I was partial to Styx, Alan Parsons Project and a few more back in the day. I don't get stuck in one decade though.

Doobie Brothers, U2, Journey, Stones, early Genesis with Peter Gabriel, Styx....but I really have no favourite era nor favourite musical genre. I must say though that I can't stand Rap.

Garret, I like all kinds of music but my heart lies in the likes of Accept, Megadeth (I'm a huge megadeth fan), Tool, Pink Floyd, Slipknot, Van Halen, AC/DC. I also dig J. Cash, Dewight Yokam (pretty sure I spelled his name wrong), Hank Sr. Though I'm not in the mood for it as often my favorite music was spawned by John Prine. The coolest thing about those who Prine inspired is that though they all tell "stories" through music, like him, they do their own thing, sounding nothing like Prine. This includes Everclear, Better Than Ezerza, Counting Crows, and more. This style is loosely called Cowpunk based on Prines country/folks style mixed with something of an alternative punk sound. It often slants a little to the pop side of alternative as a concious effort. Kinda funny considering I HATE pop music. Wanna romance the wife? Play Better Than Ezera's Absolutely Still for her. She will be putty in your hands.
