The old Boxer female needed a bath tonight. I walked over and locked her dog door and locked the door on her kennel before she could run get in it. Then I sat down on the couch, made a phone call and made her wait for it!

I hope she got you all wet and hairy as revenge! And, I hope you had to wipe down the walls of the bathroom after she shook herself before you managed to get the towel wrapped around her!!

The way she gets a bath is that I put her in the shower and get in there with her. That way any hair goes down the drain. I dry her while she is still in the tub. The walk down the hall is like the walk to the electric chair though. "anybody hear from the governor?"

My friends x BF used to shower everyday with his dog. I was like "really?" every day??? I don't think that is good for a dog!!

My nieces dog Jeff used to insist on getting in the shower with her but I be lieve he was part Labrador and they love water. My dog is a Boxer and they usually hate water. That is because they are very dense for their size and that makes them poor swimmers. She only gets a shower about once a month or so.

We went through the Burger King drivethru on the way out of town. I found out today that she dropped her single stacker between the seats. Only got to eat one bite of it.

Was she making a statement on her view of the single stacker? I would say that was the closest to burying it she could come. Lol.

No she normally loves going through the drivethru. She does usually get the Spicey Chicken though, anything on the dollar menu. It was probably an accident, she dropped it and couldn't get to it.

Poor Fang spent all day glued to the sofa while I was out earning the Alpo. Yesterday she pulled my bathrobe down off the couch and took a nap on it. Dog Drool!

speaking of baths--- for years a local fellow had a part great dane part mastiff---he used the local car wash to give Booger a bath. funniest thing I ever saw . Booger would stand there with the most embarrassed look on his face.

At least your puppers is a short hair. I once had to try to bathe a skunk sprayed red chow. For those who don't know, their undercoat is so dense that they're practically water proof.
(Oso had run up into the woods to go after a young skunk, got sprayed 2 or 3 times in the face, while I stood hopefully out of spray range and screamed at him. His 2 brain cells finally bumped into each other, creating enough friction to spark a thought: 'Mom must not want me up here in the woods with the skunk'. So he picked up the skunk and carried it down into the yard beside the house!)
My Dad jokingly told me that night, 'You know, he's not too valuable to shoot!'

At least Oso finishes them off himself. I heard a racket one night and I went outside. Trudy had a halfgrown possum pinned against the wall next to her dog door. She was waiting for me to whack it with my walking stick. Then she carried it in the house, strutting "I'm the big bad B"

This is the look I get if you utter "bath time". Then they turn and run to the nearest mud hole.

My son's beagle used to get bathed and then immediately run out to the horse pasture and roll in the patties. They always blessed me for a stinky 5 hour ride home, haha

This is so funny my dogs love water they love to go swim in the pool. It can be dead of winter or heat of summer he dont care. Turn on the shower it is a war to get him in and bath him lol. Take him to the lake or pool jumps right in I dont get it he likes water just not the shower I assume it is the shampoo to make him smell pretty. He can swim like a fish.

Our first dog took water however he could get it ... bath time in the dead of winter in the bathtub - no problem!
This one, black lab and he is terrified of water. The first time when he was 6 mo old, he jumped higher than my 5'2" trying to get away. Luckily, the animal control officer had told me he showed fear of water at their kennel, so I had a soft piece of cotton rope around his neck that I had a hold of when I put the water to him the first time. After about 2 years of washing without splashing water on his face, he got to where he would stand for a bath outside in the summer, but as soon as he was done, he was rolling in the grass from the front to the back of the house like he was going to melt!
But the bath tub ... NO WAY! We tried once and that was it as he almost busted the glass shower door trying to get out of the tub when I turned the faucet on. He had his feet so clenched, he was standing on the tips of his claws ... no pad touching the tub AT ALL!
At least, once I get the water on, and start with the soap, he loves it as I know all the itchy spots and give them a good going over. Funny enough, he doesn't mind me spreading his toes and washing between them LOL Just doesn't like his face wet at all.
The only problem is that I can't bathe him in the winter, so he can get a little stinky! And, being as old as he is, I do bring him in on cold nights ... like just about every night LOL Ah, well, a rag with white vinegar water rubbed over him takes the worst of the smell off ;D
