<smile> Garret, you KNOW if you want to try to get one of my corns in this year I am happy to send you one to try.
I have to make my final decisions as to what is going to go where. <sigh> almost hate to do it. It seems so ..... limiting. But I do have to. Some choices are easy, some are harder.
I do swear, I am NOT going to try new ones I do not already have the seed for. One that I have, that I have not grown yet, and really want to try is Mandan Red Flour. The Mandan White Flour and Iroquois White Flour corns are so nice and sweet that I must do both of those. The Rainbow Flint was fantastic. Victor Kucyk looks great. Grunt's popcorn was nice. <sigh> so much to do. And the new baby due in Feb and Patti doesnt want me to take so many weekends really far from the house. Wants me to concentrate on gardens closer to home.
Maybe I will have to beg/borrow some more land somewhere closer to me. Question then is, where?
Tom

<laughing> well, when I get a new camera, I will post pics of the kids grinding cornmeal. How would that be? Nothing new really otherwise until planting time starts. Suppose you could go onto my blog and live my summer again vicariously through your computer.

And this is how it was harvested <grin> Good thing too. Leg doesnt work right now. Lance Ness (where my biggest gardens are) bought the harvester, a discer, a planter, adn a few few other things for his tractor for $1000. Not a bad deal. At all. Tom Attachments:

This is the short season, full sized cob, red popcorn project I have been working on. I have 90%+ coming red, and 70%+ giving larger cobs. Still some of the Red Strawberry popcorn shape I am getting out of it, but it is getting close to being ready for distribution. Pretty stuff. Attachments:

Yeah, the red popcorn has a nice glass-like appearance. Tastes incredible as well. I have made the Victor Kucyk 2175 selection of seeds for the year and posted that with photos on the blog this morning. threedaughtersfarm.com/wp/?p=3580There is the link if you want to see this year's selection. Far more photos than I usually do, and I did that especially for Redneck <grin> Tom

Sorry have been absent. Busy gardening and getting used to the new spine. Really limited overall in amount I can do in a day, but still doing all of the variety of what I used to do. Had to update Garret on his corn porn. Just started harvesting, and although the damn raccoons have been all over me this year, I am getting some. threedaughtersfarm.com/wp/?p=4926Site shows what I picked the other day. Coons have nearly wiped out a few plantings, but others are not as molested. Tom

It is taking some getting used to. I have no where near the movement or capabilities I used to have, and getting used to the new normal is taking some getting used to. It is what it is. <shrug> still gardening and trying to do what I used to do, but have to figure out what is realistic, possible, and doable yet.
