The galaxys are the Android operating system equivalent to the iPhone except they are faster and more reliable and you don't have to have AT & T service to use them.

Yea, they are.
Years ago I had a Verizon account - couldn't wait til that contract expired. Since then, I've only used pay-as-you-go service, and I love it. Let's just lay it on the line - I hate - hate, hate - making payments of any kind. I'm a cash and carry kind of gal. My first phone was only 9.99 and it worked great. Only reason I now have a 30.00 phone is that was the cheapest I could find after I lost the first one. Out in the boonies of the Texas backroads, I still have good service. At 6.99 per month + .10 min, don't need any shiny bells and whistles.
Having said that, I dropped 300.00 for my daughter's cell without blinking twice. But I don't pay the monthly - that's her baby. Just call me el'Cheapo!

gulfcoastguy I have a Fascinate and love it. It's one of the Galaxy S phones. I love Verizon's service they have free roaming data. We have used that so many times to find directions in the middle of the mountain roads when the tiniest of towns are 60 miles apart or better. My kid has AT&T and she always loses her signal before we do. It was time for our two year contract to renew so I got my phone for less than 75, not bad at all for all the stuff it does.

We have a regional service called Cellular South. It has the best state wide coverage, service and rates. I don't travel much but the people I know who do never have a problem with out of state coverage. I've been with TMobile since 98 or 99 but if they merge with AT & T I'm outta there. I believe I'll go ahead and transfer in Jan when my contract is over anyway. The Samsung Memoir I've got no longer has a working camera any way.

Hubby recently got the iPhone, he's a Verizon baby & NOT weened at all from technology lol. An iPhone 'unlocked' from the store is $599. I believe. I'm a Google baby so naturally I want a Droid not an Apple iPhone. I got my last one 8 years ago and it's buttons were so worn I had to push the same one 15 times before it worked. This is the one I finally broke down and bought. www.phonearena.com/phones/ZTE-Score_id6390

Angry Birds what a fun lil app lol. I had a company cell for so many years when I no longer did I told her my phone is wore out but I just need a phone that calls out and receives and ended up with that thing. I was a lil upset when I found out what she paid for mine and hers but the contract is just about up with yes ATT. Horrible connection even here in almost Dallas proper.

Wow I never had to worry my company just let me expense it they never asked. I had so many minutes on the plan they told me what to get and I did. Back then it was Verizon. I traveld the country so maybe that is why. The only thing I had to keep track of was personal versus company miles on the car.
