Well, you can have the pine trees. They drop some big branches during snow, ice or any wind. The needles do make good pine needle baskets though.

Here's my garden in 2011. TX, those squash plants inside the white snowfence are the Lebanese Bush Marrow that you kindly sent seeds for to me. I had to protect them from the varmints; squirrels mostly, but Greta the Glutinous Gopher did irreparable damage to my garden before she disappeared. This year, there will be less tomatoes, and the peppers will be up front amongst the herbs where the marrow were in 2011. The yardcame equipped with raspberries, both summer and fall varieties, lots of Egyptian and Welsh onions and two massive Lovage plants. We brought other herbs and a young asparagus patch with us. Since we bought it in summer, I can't wait to see what spring brings to the garden. I know there were violas, and there are lots of roses, but I'm certain there will be other surprises as the previous owner was a professional gardener.

Niiiccce Blue. The Bush Marrows look downright happy there.
Also nice that you're following someone who did something besides have grass in the yard. Gives you a good head start on getting things the way you like.
