Nice!
I harvested two nice red bell peppers yesterday. There are two more starting to color up, and several nice fat green ones out there. No frost in the extended forecast yet, so maybe more of them will have time to ripen.
Tabasco plant is loading up again. Most of the bitty green ones that I left when I picked last time are getting close to full size, and the plant is still blooming and setting like mad.
Ancho is puttering along, growing a half-dozen or so fruit. Jalepenos have a number of fruit on them, but nothing like the load they had last time.
Except for the Tabasco, I can definitely see that the shorter days and cooler temperatures are slowing them down.

I think I might have gotten some Shishito peppers as a free pack a few years ago. Since I can't remember much I guess I wasn't impressed. I planted Chocolate habaneros, Mexibell, Giant Marconi, and Basrawyi eggplants today. It is already hot.

Anybody here grow Shishito peppers? I just heard about them and they sound right up my alley. never tried them linn. what have you found out? the name sounds interesting..... They are a mildly hot Japanese pepper similar to the peppers used for tapas in Spain. The Spanish strain is prone to producing the occasional really hot pepper, causing folks to compare eating the tapas in Spain to playing Russian roulette with peppers. Apparently Shishito peppers can throw hot ones as well, but hopefully not too many. One of the recommended ways to cook them is whole at the green mature stage, seared in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt: www.worthmysalt.com/?p=111I just got a small pack last week in a trade, so I am going to plant them and see how I like them. Guess I won't be using that last Earthbox for zucchini after all.

Some varmint ate all the leaves off of one of my Chocolate habaneros. So I thought about it and planted : a Big Jim, a Poblano, and one of those Italian cherry peppers. He's bound to not like one of them.

The Chocolate Habaneros or gone. I can't even find a stem. To add insult to injury the store boughten ones are doing fine. It must have been the giant rain storms. The eggplants are looking a bit unhappy themselves.

Your ground must be really wet for the eggplants to be affected; they're fairly flood-tolerant.
Sorry to hear about your Chocolate Habs - I know you were looking forward to those. Is it too late to restart?

Okay my bifocals must have been acting up. I found both of them today after I bought a Cajun Bell and a pimento but the habs aren't happy. All of these peppers and I might have to try the dehydrator I traded for 3 years ago. Got to find a way to use them all. The eggplants are still there but they haven't started to grow. Tomatoes are loving the weather as well as the blueberry bush. Plus the weeds that invaded my jasmine are dew berries(low growing wild sorta blackberries).

Another pepper deleafed today but at least the chocolate habs finally look happy. 2 out of 4 maters are bloom at my house. Now the six that I planted in multiple truck loads of hardwood leaves are all blooming and twice as large. The 6 that I planted at Dad's of course.

One hot cherry pepper harvested to day.It was red and the size of a cherry. 2 Big Jims harvested and scrambled with eggs last weekend. The Big Jims are a bit too mild for me.
