Ya
Awhile back I posted a little
youtube flick about a guy who
figured a way to convert a
five dollar 2 AA cell flashlight
into a very bright one surpassing
a $99.00 flashlight he also owned.
I thought the idea had merit
and so bought components
for the project and tried it.
I can now tell you after completing
the project yesterday that it
works.
I got the flashlight body in the
mail yesterday and went right
to work on it.
Originally designed to work on
2 AA batteries, 3 volts it now
works on three 3 volt batteries
9 volts with a 6 volt bulb and
amazingly the bulb didn't burn
out.
I have a nice AA sized light that
works like a 6 cell maglight.
The conversion wasn't as cheap
as he made it sound as the
batteries were expensive about
25.00 so with 6 for the light and
2 for the bulb I paid3 times what
he claimed he paid though I suspect
he used cheap batteries or knows
where to buy them cheap.
Here is that flick again.
