I seem to have a wealth of blackberries this year, the first year ever. I was thinking of making blackberry jam with them. I really don't want to have to strain the seeds. Do I have to? I was looking for a very basic recipe: blackberries, sugar & pectin (preferable dry - I think I have a lot of it). So please help me out with your blackberry jam recipes & about the seeds.
Thanks, Becky

All the hints I have about seeded fruit jam, is do you have dentures? if you do, or have people your going to feed who have dentures--then sieve out the seeds with a china cap. The seeds get under their dentures and hurt.
There are many recipes on the web. I'd only steer you away from recipes using corn starch--stick with pectin.

Nope, no one with dentures in the family! I might try and sieve out some of the seeds. What's a china cap?
