got the area I wanted to amend for onions half done... got the leaves in place.need a couple truckloadfs of manure. then we'll be set.the wallyworld mystery onons from October look good albeit a lil burned from our freezes.lol

Wow! What'cha gonna do with 1400 onions?!?
My little garlic patch looks pretty good so far. If I could have known that we were going to get some actual cold weather this winter, I would not have bothered to pre-chill the bulbs.

its always a crapshoot aint it? lol I dug out a mega row in the leaf soil last night....oh my aching bonbon....lol will drop onions today after it warms a bit outside.

got the @@@@###$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!! 1000 onion sets planted... all day sat and half of sunday..... on the plus side my lil red creole from seeds bed seems to be doing ok......

My garlic is still under snow, very unusual winter here. Dixondale doesn't ship to me til April and I always dread the day lol. I want the onions, but boy they sure are a lot of work to plant

Garlic is looking good here. We've been cooler than average lately, and the garlic seems to really be enjoying it.

cooked some rice last night.added a whole garlic plant to the boiling rice all chopped up. I ate the young tender scape first. very mild soft kiss of garlic flavor.the greens were more like mustard or beet greens. the chopped up round added some nice flavor to the rice.

Finally got all the onions planted last week--had to finish the raised bed that I had planned to do last fall but early winter prevented. Planted the leeks in an established bed. Garlic looking good.

i'll say this....the rojo has some heat.hoooooo raaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh. pulled 5 garlics for my uncle. bulbs were actual cloves...... on the smaller side but real garlic .....
