I been off and on again this year. had puter issues then didn't and then did.lol I haven't been faithful to you guys and gals..... here with my sharing and posting...... those of you still here and remaining dedicated I thank you with all my heart. I am now pondering what to do with the forum...... to continue?to let it die a gracefulish death......? to try to resurrect it and be more commited and purposeful to ya'lls? so much has happened to us all in the last few years..... maybe there is no place fer us ol posters in this fast paced media ridden world? do I bother old friends via email and let em know that i'm trying to fix things here? just leave it alone? your thoughts would be most welcome my friends. thanks garrett

Hey, Garrett -
The decision over the direction of the forum is ultimately yours. But if you're going to be around and trying to keep the ball rolling, then I'll be here.

I'll be here as much as I can. Work controls a lot of our time.

Yeppers double down on what Kay and Lin says ...... Would hate to see you close it down but it is your decision ... There's so much info here that we share and the fun things too... hahahaa---
I too have been off more than on ---lots of reasons which I won't go into . Life is what it is !!! We try and make the most of what comes our way . Jobs, families, personal lives and just plain living in the real world sometimes limits our computer time.
After replacing our computer, we have had problems with aol not accepting our pass words etc., Jim finally got most of it straightened out . Had to go thru and delete over a thousand emails day before yesterday--- uuuuuguguguugug--- but its better now. Honestly , my opinion , I prefer this over the fast paced media such as face book, it too has a place but trying to go back and find the hint so and so posted last spring on how to get rid of whatever pest from the garden --- Fb just isn't convenient , its not set up right for such as that ...That's just an example . Just saying.

It would be nice if some of the regulars came back. Txdirtdawg for example seems to have disappeared from the web or been captured by facebook. This is the time of the year when the boards are usually abuzz with plans for the coming year.

Long silences kill boards like this. If you have a week or month that is like being nibbled to death by ducks say so, and give your best guess for return. Stop by when you can and brag (or bemoan) your absence.
Alan Bishop dropped off his own board without even a by your leave. It has damaged a platform that was about 100 times this sites size.
Will this site grow? It will if you speak about it.
I got a bit of grace from Robin Marble, she set out a forum set themed about her need4seed give aways.
Trying to launch the poorest among us into gardening and arbors, is a soft spot of mine. Its been an uphill grind to bring the world back from the brink of tweeting.

Coppice has said it right!! Long silences do kill boards like this!! You have people who love you!! Or it wouldn't be here Red. I still say you have some of these regulars here you should make them Mods. They are here anyway, making the place busy. and keeping it alive! Red you can do it! You wanted this and you have it!! Let some of these wonderful people who are already helping you make it better!! If mods show up it helps!!

Well, I'm on here about once a week, at best. I Do check it but don't see the quick turnaround like I do on facebook. On the other hand, I think facebook sometimes is more about trying to impress other people, & getting the most "likes". Also, the gardening stuff it's hard to get most of the people on there to care about. Maybe I have the wrong friends Sometimes I go out of town for a week at a time & usually don't have internet, or it's very awkward and slow to get to.

Glad you're still here! I'm trying to get my act together. The DH and I split up just before Christmas (the D no longer stands for darling or dearest). Had to put on my "happy face" and fake it through the holidays. So I'm trying to get back to my roots. Figure out the things I like to do and who I am. So, I'm glad the forum is still here. Its a happy place to be (even if you are mostly just lurking).
Right now we have sub zero wind chills. It's hard to think about gardening.

So sorry to hear about you and your husband. I watched my sister go through that not too long ago. I wish you only the best in building a new life for yourself.
I think most of the folks here are too busy trying to stay warm to think too much about gardening...except those of us in the far southern tier of states. Things will pick up soon as folks start to thaw out. :-)
