I have a new computer. I got it about two weeks ago. I used to have a PC. Now I have a Mac. I'm not enamored with it. I'm trying to get used to it, but there are things I just used to be able to do with my old computer that are not intuitive with this one. I've been trying to soley use the new computer to get used to it. There are some things I just can't figure out. So now, instead of being good with one computer and not having a clue with the other, I somehow suck at both! Frustrating! A new toy should be fun!

We are Linux users with an autistic son. A lot of autistic kids work very well with what amount to tablets or pads to help facilitate communication. It seems that the schools always go for Apple products. Grandma got our boy his own little thingie so that we could have one at home. Thing is, we don't speak Apple and it seems that they want to charge for everything. So we have a piece of tech that is nothing more than a very expensive paperweight. The school cannot help because if they load software onto a personal device they are in violation of contractual agreements. I am going to send a note into school in September (summer school does not always have all the full info about such things) and see if I can get enough information to replicate function on like an Android (they don't have to be connected as phones I gather) or something. Another crazy expensive piece of tech, but if it works it would be worth it.

I switched to all Apple bake last September. The hardest thing to learn is how to cut and paste. I recommend the security program MacKeeper for it. Kaspersky for Mac is a total nogo. The nice thing is that my iPhone, iPod, and iMac are perfectly synchronized. The Smartmouse takes a little getting used to though.
