How about a dog that decides she wants a pet? This afternoon I saw that my dog was interested in something behind a shrub and besides the back fence, a tortoise as it happens. I forget it and go to yoga figuring the tortoise has a shell. 10 minutes ago I look beside my computer desk. She had carried the poor tortoise in through the dog door and "hid" him inside. The poor tortoise was upside down and had his shell sealed tight. Just got through putting him back through the door flap and saying "that's your outside friend!"

I have 3 indoor/outdoor cats- one of whom, my matriarch is 14 years old. she goes outside seldom now, but is happy inside, running the household. I worry about her in the wintertime, as we heat with wood, and both hubs and I are working during the day- not that the house freezes, but it can get cold. so I went online and bought her a heated cat bed. Put it up about a month ago, and she hated it- glaring at it, and avoiding it. I tried putting it in her old box that she'd slept in for years- nothing. Finally, tonight, she's sleeping in it- and purring. Now I won't worry so much that she will get cold when I'm gone. Spoiled cat.......

Must be going around, Fange got dragged to the shower and scrubbed with a bar of homemade soap night before last. To day she tried to roll in a pile of horse poop to cover up the scented soap. Luckily she was on a leash.

He gets weak, today was a long trip to Wally World and we had to tell him to go sit by the entrance. He had a 24 hr strap on monitor and an echo cardiogram but the cardiologist appt. is tuesday. They were scheduled to leave on a seniors bus trip to Branson sunday after thanksgiving and it is too late to cancel with out losing their department. Fang has been hanging around with him today.

Dad ended up getting a pacemaker yesterday, his heart rate had been varying from 35 to 155 while resting. Also Fang got the last antibiotic poked down her throat for her UTI. Think I'll go join her under the heater vent.

She was a little freaked about all of my blood everywhere. Massive nose bleed last night. Got back from the ER at 2 am with a freaking baloon stuck up my nose for the next 5 days.

Tuesday at 3:30. I've got to spray saline up my nose. She also found fungus spores in my right ear, drops and wear ear plugs in the shower. Last night I picked Fang up and carried her big backside to the shower.

Don't really have pets so much as co workers. Blue the red colored (yeah I know it makes no sence but that was his name when we got him from a burntout hippie guy) red/blue heeler cross. Blue does his best work out in the fild driving the cows to the barn, he will not stay in the barn while we are milking. He's a lot like me in that he is kinda a deadhead in the morning, he doesn't come out of his house till called most mornings. Then theres Tag the Border Collie. Tag on the other hand is a the door yapping wanting to come in while I put my boots on. We milk at four in the afternoon ,about ten till he starts yapping and bangin on the door with his front feet. I don't know how he knows its milk time ,but he does. Tag lives to work in the milk barn, as soon as I start to take the milkers off he gets behind the cows to drive them out of the barn, then its around the barn and up on the back of the holding pen where he has the next set of cows up to the doors ready to come in. If there are no cows on the holding pen ,no problem he goes out in the dirt pen and puts them in. Between them they save me a lot of steps in a days time.

I am owned by 2 great danes and a chihuahua. Dino, we went to PA and got from a Dane breeder. He's a stunning and awesome dog. He's not "show" material, but he sure thinks he is. He trots like a thoroughbred.
Otis we also got from a dane breeder but he was set to be culled, so we took him. He's just a mess. Just a jumble of nervous, allergic bones. But he's the biggest sweetheart.
Seti, I got from a chihuahua rescue. This poor woman had about 15 chi's in her apartment that they'd pulled from the pounds after those Da*! chihuahua movies! Yes...they are hyper little dogs! I wish people would do their breed research before going out and buying that cute puppy!

This happens often-I have 2 cats and a miniature daschund (or-they have me!). One of the cats is only 7 months old-really still a kitten. I have a pet door and 3 bird feeders in the yard. I have come home several times to FEATHERS everywhere-and no bird. No feet, no beak, no nothing, just feathers. Yesterday evening late, Itty comes busting through the pet door with a little tweety bird and runs in "their" room, under the bed. Can't get her out. In a short while, she comes out and sits and cleans her face-so I go into the room to get the remains. Nothing-just feathers-wing feathers. She ate the feet??? The beak??? Wish she'd eat the feathers!!!!!!
