I've been planting a variety called russian rambler for years. I got them off a guy as part of a deal for a rooted rose start. I've no idea if the name is true, or just what he decided to call them. Anyway, they usually get no more than 4 inches long, which is great for whole dills or any kind of slices, and they make really good pickles in those varieties. I have picked them when they are about half grown for sweet gherkins, and I am just not satisfied with them for that.
So if you had plans to make sweet gherkins, what variety would you plant?

I have no idea but I love me some kosher dills pickled with garlic and hot pepper. Best of luck.
