Thorncat passed last night.
She was our eldest cat, and about 14 years old.
We found out her kidneys were going a couple of years ago when she had surgery for cancer. We were trying to hold the line against further kidney degeneration but they got a little bit worse every year. Then she got aenemia, then she got a UTI, then she quit eating at all.
She had gotten to the point where if she was still alive this morning I would have probably been on the phone to the vet to discuss extreme options. It is sad, but it was time.

Awww...I really feel for you, Nightmist. It was so tough when I lost my Valerie a few years ago. She was with me from six weeks old until she died at 21. It leaves a real hole in your heart to lose a beloved pet, but I hope you feel better soon.

Maybe Trudy is different in heaven and won't chase Thorn Cat just to see her run. I hope she find fields of catnip and river of milk.
