Well have a new house in Stryker OH and we have a little over half an acre to work with. So plans are already under way for our biggest garden ever. So what is on the list ? well lots of great tomatoes and Peppers for starters. They have always been a part of the back bone of the family garden. Also there will be some great melons ,pumpkins, winter squash, greens , beans and peas. It won't stop there. several berries will be planted too along with some fruit trees and some great flower beds and herbs. Got our work cut out for us but it will be well worth it. Oh almost forgot potatoes, corn, cucumbers , asparagus, garlic and onions along with other root crops.

That sounds good! I'll try to get more from my artichokes (trying to decide whether and how to best divide the one from last year). I'm open to strawberries too though they weren't successful in the front yard. If I can find a way to set it up that I can afford and is strong enough (would give myself 1 in 3 chance), will add shade cloth to the peppers/ tomatoes. Usually I try something new and kind of different but not sure what that will be yet.

And only one new hot pepper. Repeats on a lot of the other stuff, it's a "best of oldies" year.

Well the artichoke left it alone and it has been awesome! I've picked at least 20 artichokes and have another 9 still on the plant. If I can grow it here I know some others can have success. Our last frost was March 28. I'm in Dallas but in a frost pocket. 3 degree difference between my house and the towns north and south of me, keeps me honest when others are pushing their plants out! Have returned to a greatest hits kind of approach of not planting most stuff until early April, putting mulch around squash, tomatoes, and peppers, and planting the rows uphill and downhill.

I think the membership will have to build up again. So register and get some of your friends to register. It was a good forum and can be one again.

I'll bookmark the site in a more noticeable location, and I'll stop in more regularly than every 6 months.

Everything is producing well or at least the zukes, cukes, yellow squish, eat. The peppers are also loading up but it will be a while before the rest starts producing.

Everything is moving forward. Our garden is being tilled a couple days later than we intended but not a huge deal. Plants are looking good.
