I listen to everything from Classical to Heavy Metal. Do NOT like Ghetto Rap and very moderate doses of Opera. I can't read, write or play the stuff but I do like it

I collect songs that you can't hear on the radio. Modern celtic like "Rising Gael", modern folk singer/song writers, one hit wonders. I especially like singer that write and perform their own music. Allmost absolutely no rap, I give the Beasty Boys a passfor Intergalactic. Limited country,

I'll be in my rocker at the ol' nursing home jamming out to the 80's! Cum on feel the noise! But my favorite artist is and will be Robert Palmer. but I do like classical music, and Luis Armstrong and oddly enuf blue grass and much of the Cajun & Zydeco Music . Some of the new music is not bad either but for some reason I tend to like the really "blue" stuff like Korn and Buck Cherry..

My first love is Classic Rock! the stuff they play now days sounds like someone got there foot run over by a semi. I hate hip Hop and Rap with a passion. I also like the old time Country music...Patsy Cline, Hank Williams... Bluegrass is good too! and add just a dash of Country Rock, better known as Country, today. I like John Denver and Berry Manalo. What it all boils down to is, I just like good music.

just about anything will do. last night i went to a concert up in salt lake city, it was two bands, one is called sublime and the other is 311. both are heavily influenced by a popular, illegal herb. sublime is always the exact same beat and only the words and chords change. 311 is a mix of reggae, heavy rock and rap. excellent music for a summer night.

There was a time when I could say I like all types of music, but that was before disco and way before rap and whatever they call this stuff they play nowadays with less than three chords. I guess I'm getting too old for most here as I go much further back than the 80's I like old Folk Music from the likes of Tom Rush, Tom Paxton, Peter, Paul, and Mary, Ian & Sylvia, Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, Eric Anderson, Gordon Lightfoot, Etc. Also quite fond of Blues, from Otis Spahn to Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters to John Lee Hooker and others. Also British Blues from the likes of John Mayall, Early Fleetwood Mac, Savoy Brown Blues Band and a host of others. Right now I'm listening to one of my favorite groups...the Cluster Pluckers...an old tyme country/bluegrass/gospel band thats got great harmonies. Also rated Chet Atkins and Mark Knopler's neck to neck as one of my favorites, along with the likes of Doc Watson and Norman Blake and Tony Rice and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and... With over 5,000 record albums in my collection and who knows how many cd's and dvd's...I don't listen to much broadcast from any source as I play what I want when I want.

One of the best Music DVDs out there is Claptons 2007 Crossroads Concert from Ill. Just some fantastic guitars. Thought it was funny to see Bill Murry (Host) kick things off with "Gloria" You should checkout the line up on this one, it's fantastic.

MY boat floats on a sea of classic country..from the 50s & 60s....NOT what they pass off for ""country"" nowadays. I Also like Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, George Jones, etc... Like Celtic & "some" Cajun. Bluegrass. However.... to each, his own....live & let live! LarryD

I just found this so here goes, I grew up listening to my daddy playing the fiddle. Mostly early western, not really what you call country. Train songs, Hank Williams, he loved Bob Will and the Texas Playboys, Faded Love his favorite. He taught all of us kids how to keep up with him on the old guitar, always wished I'd learned to play better but still pick it up from time to time. Then in gradeschool was introduced to classical and fell in love with it. One of the highlights of my young life was getting to go to the Westward Ho Hotel (featured briefly in Psycho) and hearing the Phoenix Symphony playing an hour and a half of the most beautiful music I'd ever heard. I have an album of classical pieces by a guy named Waldo de los Rios, wouldn't trade it for anything. Like 70's rock, Pink Floyd and Moody Blues, ELO and ElP, second some others already mentioned early stuff Peter Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan and the Cluster Pluckers. Also like Mark Knopfler's Screenplaying, soundtracks he's done. Like celtic music, Sinead Oconnor's On Raglan Road is awesome. Can't listen to today's country but still enjoy old Johnny Cash (Look at them Beans!) and Marty Robbins gunfighter ballods. Variety, it's a good thing!
