I went to clean out the freezer on the lower portion of the fridge, groan. It kept frosting over, ice kept forming on the inner edge making it harder to close. First I chunked it off for some days til I was ready to rip into it. That was an understatement. I went to empty it this afternoon, the entire bottom of it was an iceberg...I mean it was several inches thick of ice and frozen packages were embedded in it. So naturally I empty what I can and I left the door open but it was not melting...hardly at all for hours. and I had to get dinner on. I decide I really can't hold a blowdryer and roll out pizza dough...too far of a stretch, so I position a blow dryer carefully on the very dry door of it, positioned above a dry towel with the cord securely on the microwave cart handle. So then I just had to wait a very long time, going back and forth moving that blow dryer along the edge to get a good aim on strategic parts every 20 minutes or so. The food I had put in a big plastic bin and hours later, it was all still frozen! I used a crow bar to chunk up the ice carefully not to damage the wire basket support still frozen in place and unwedged the foods...which I promptly tossed. So there you go, a redneck way to defrost an ice berg in your freezer....but folks do it safely! LOL rotfl....................smiles

Yes we had a kitty show up on the porch last night she is 100% black she is so very skinny and she had a collar with a bell on it.. we finally got her to trust us enuf to pet her and finally got the collar off. She is missing furr where the collar is but no sores. At least she can hunt now , no bell to scare birds and stuff away, I got pics with my field cam. If we can catch her we are going to take her home with us. Marge has been wanting a cat , and here is her chance We call her Oprah .....Here is a pic

You ask why is this a rant??? Someone either lost this cat or dumped it off , I am ticked because you don't put a bell on a cat and let it out side.. I guess a million different scenarios could be out there and some could probably be worth not being upset about... But I just feel so bad about this lil kitty ...........She is , lost hungry and cold.........

Oh such a pretty kitty!!!! I would have called her Snoball just for the heck of it! Good that you have a home for her to go to. It shouldn't take too long to get her back to a good healthy condition. I have never understood why some one would bell a cat? Doesn't make sense to me. In fact would drive me up a wall. All that tinkling as kitty roamed about.

Seriously though, sorry you sprained your ankle. I know that's painful and irritating not to be able to get around. Take care of it and let it heal proper.

I kept stepping in wide cracks that had flaked from the expansion crack in the parking lot outside the grocery store one summer ... the second time, I turned around and marched right back in the store, buttonholed a manager and drug him out there complaining the whole way.
The next month, I did it again, so went and got a different manager.
The third month, I got the store manager.
The next month, it was patched ;D The problem was that the owner of the property (not the store) wouldn't do anything until the insurance kicked about it, so I kept lodging my complaints, the managers had to record them in their daily log, and the insurance had to be notified as I was reporting a minor injury each time. After the third one, the insurance sent a compliance letter to enforce the lease contract property upkeep clause.
I was nice about it with the managers, but told them that I expected it to be corrected ... and, I started with the lowest assistant manager, then worked my way up the chain of command.
It also helped that I always complimented the managers whenever I saw them, and all the cashiers liked to see me in their line as I always had something nice to say to them personally. Gotta love small towns! Everybody knows everyone else, or they are related to someone you are related to ;D

So I went shopping at the thrift store today and Michelle (my 18 year old daughter) went with me and I got this nice metal shelf/box. I need more shelves in the spare room to hold all the canning jars etc. and this one was still in the box, looked like it might have all the pieces and it was only $9.99. So I got it. Got it home and the first thing Michelle says is, "Phil ought to have fun putting that thing together." And I looked around and said, "What makes you think I need Phil to put the shelf together?" and she made that little "disbelief" sound she makes "Chuu". Just irritates me because I had no intention of making Phil put it together (so much faster to do it myself) and since my daughter has lived with me for 18 years, I wonder where she gets that from. I take care of ALL the animals. I carry those 50 lb bags of feed around the house and the bales of hay! I fixed up the pens and very rarely do I ask him to help (after all, it isn't his thing). So yeah, I was quick to put the shelf together when I got home, just to show her that you don't exactly need a man to do everything.

Sheeeeesh; what's up with this. Some time ago, I'd gotten the cd for the bowen massage; but needed someone to practice on. This is a really healthy deep-muscle type massage. Figured hubby would be a good volunteer. Nope. Then I was going to give him a foot massage cuz his feet hurt; that, I know how to do. Think that worked?? Pfffffffft; no. Stubborn old man. Maybe if I looked like a little french maid...... ;D

Oh no...I can certainly understand that, Wendy. That massage wouldn't do any good, then. I hope you're feeling ok now; back surgery is so touchy. My sis had quite a few of those, too.

Good, and I also hope it's the only one you'll have. I am mortified at the thought of needing surgery, as I've never had any, but at my age, it may just be a matter of time; yikes.

Well I fall ... and every time I fall I break something.... I am not afraid to say I am 51 to early to have all these broken bones ... the last surgery the Doc said "I have no idea whats going on with your bones" So I just try and be carefull...... I don't wish any of this on anyone .... I cannot take pain meds (allergic) so when something happens I suffer thru it... but you know there is a reason for everything ... you just don't know why at the time ..... or maby never know why... It's ok I am ok with myself I get over it

You are way too young to have such a problem with your bones. I imagine it's scary and you have to be very careful about what you do. I wonder if some supplement or something would help that. I am so much more afraid of falling than I used to be for that reason. A couple months ago I slipped and fell in the garage, and can't believe I got right up and had no pain at all. That was just lucky.

Not a rant; just for fun. This is soooo true.... ;D
Marriage or Relationship With a Significant Other ..
If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say it's not quite as good as his mother's....Then adopt a dog.
If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, For as long and wherever you want ...Then adopt a dog.
If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care About football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies...then adopt a dog.
If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to Warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores...then adopt a dog !
If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves You unconditionally, perpetually....then adopt a dog.
BUT, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair All over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness .... . . . . ...then adopt a cat!
You thought I was gonna say... Marry a man, didn't you?
