i dont really mind what its made out of as long as the piece is unique. i hate mediocre cookie cutter stuff... i like stuff thats borderline gaudy... then you only have to wear one thing... find a lot of cool stuff on ebay. Im necklace obsessed. i love statement necklaces... as for rings... i like em BIG! lol

I'm allergic to cheap jewelery, makes me break out really bad so only gold for this girl. I'm not really into jewelery a lot but I have my wedding band set, a pair of diamond earrings hubby got me for my birthday a few years ago, and a pair of blackhills gold earrings he bought me when we were in South Dakota two years ago. I like to look at jewelery but if hubby asks if I want something I'd rather have books or new garden tools

Emeralds, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, garnets for me ;D Yellow or white gold, no problem, but I do prefer white gold for my diamonds.
Rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pins, all are good!

I like silver & turquoise. I have more jewelry than I'll ever wear, but I like those pieces the best.

I have to be careful with jewelery with the metal sensitivity. Can't have anything on my skin, not even a watch on my wrist. I like pendants, Western related, horse themed. Then I like stock pins. Gem stones as pendants. Can't stand rings, or bracelets. Sea shell jewlery is fine, usually as a pendant.

I can't wear the cheap jewelry, either - it makes me break out. I can get away with wearing it occasionally for short periods, but that's about it. I prefer yellow gold, too. It's very rare that I see a silver, white gold, or platinum piece that I like. I usually go for elegant designs, not the big, gaudy stuff. But I don't like the teensy delicate jewelry, either - no point in wearing jewelry if people can't see it, right? If I had to pick a favorite type of jewelry, it would be dangle earrings - I have seen some designs from India that are just fabulous. I like diamonds, and I also like the darker, strongly colored gemstones: emeralds, rubies, dark sapphires. Some of the dark opals and turquoises are beautiful, too. I have some black coral pieces I bought in Hawaii years ago that I really like. (We had two incomes and no kids back then!) I don't care for the pale/pastel gemstones, though. I am not a "pastels" kind of gal. What I'd really like is some emerald jewelry with real, natural, high-quality emeralds. I am not talking about the created emeralds you usually see in most jewelry stores. So of course the emerald jewelry I want is waaaaay out of the budget. I am talking so far out of the budget that unless I win the lottery, it's never gonna happen. Actually, with the price of gold lately, all the jewelry I really like is beyond our budget...so I ask for garden and house stuff instead. I'd rather have something useful than waste money on jewelry that's "almost" what I want, you know?

I love vintage crystals.... They do not have be silver or gold strung...just glittery...just love them! I was married in an old crystal necklace I had bought at an antique store... I still have it. When I was a teen I took waxed dental floss in about 8 strands and did macrame's knots and entwined old crystals in it...I have two of those I had made...very unique. As time has passed, the lustre of gold or silver has become overshadowed by the brilliant shine of crystal! I do not treasure precious gems at all.... I did recently learn how to bend sterling silver into swirled earrings of course with crystals...

I like Black Hills gold on silver. The contrast is beautiful. I also like tri-gold.. (rose, white & yellow gold) But my favorite precious metal is silver. It ages beautifully with constant wear. I prefer the darker colored precious & semi-precious gems. Amethyst is my favorite, followed closely by Sleeping Beauty turquoise & amber. Turquoise & amber or turquoise & deep red coral look stunning together. And pearls... Pearls are gorgeous. A single strand of pearls is so classic & elegant.
