I was at ours yesterday. Got Biodegradable Doggie Doo bags, and some Valentine's day stuff for My Sweetie and our Grandkids. But there were a lot of pushy shovey people there yesterday with strollers so I got what I needed and left quickly!

My DD just graduated and for the ceremony I hit the Dollar Tree for decorations............ 20.00 later we were done and between those and the flowers/plants that my cousin loaned us, (he runs one of the 'local' farmer's co-ops) it was BEAUTIFUL ( I'm the short one handing out the diplomas ( NOT the bald one ) (and that's with 5" heels on ;D) Attachments:

Dollar Tree is great for holidays and birthdays.
They have really nice gift bags for a buck, just as nice as the ones that you pay $4-$5 for elsewhere. And big packs of tissue paper for a buck as well. For stocking stuffers, goody bags, and presents for your kids' classmates they have books, coloring books, small slinkies, bouncy balls, and lots of other small toys and trinkets. Some cute decorations, too. Sure, you have to pick through the crap, but I've always found some genuinely good items there.
Also, they have helium-filled mylar balloons for $1! You're not limited to the pre-inflated ones, either. You pick out the one you want from the display and they'll fill it for you, just like the party store, but at at a fraction of the price. Their paper plates and cups, and paper decorations are good quality, too. Their colored plastic tablecloths are so thin they are basically see-through, but you can buy two and double up and it's still cheaper than the party store or even Walmart. One thing I won't get at Dollar Tree is their plastic forks and spoons...they are cheeeep, they break if you look at them wrong.
They have a much smaller selection of styles of their party goods, of course. But if you can find ones that you like, you can save a lot of money when you need to throw a birthday party, baby shower, Christmas party, or what have you.

Just a hint ,,, I have used those great ole big plastic party designed table cloths for wrapping large gifts that didn't fit in any bag and would require more than one roll of party paper--- both birthday and baby related gifts. The ones I got where not see thru tho --- came from DG rather than DT, the nearest DT is over 50 miles so I am not in it very much.

Ooh, that's a good idea. Buying more than one roll of wrapping paper for big presents gets pricey.
I'll have to check out the tablecloths at DG...they just built one near me and I haven't been in there yet.

I use little stuffed toys and such bundled together rather than a big bow and ribbon , hate the thought of spending that much for something to be tossed away....
Yeah I'm a el cheapo!!! haaaaaaaaaa

We only have 2 Dollar General stores in the county & nothing else. My best score was 3-pocket sweat pants, regular price $15... I got 5 pairs for 75 cents apiece. I would have bought more, but I bought all that they had in my size. Great gardening pants! ;D
If I want to go anywhere else to shop, I have to travel 25 to 55 miles depending on where I go. It's 55 miles just to go to Big Lots. I have found some awesome bargains at Big Lots. When I go to Houston, I go to Dollar Tree & the 99 Cent Store. *heaven* ;D Ross & Burke's Outlet are also great places to shop. I have gotten expensive toiletries in both stores for incredibly cheap prices.

Ohhh I love Big Lots!!!! but I have to drive 50 miles for the closest one . I haven't been there yet this year for Christmas shopping , next week , hopefully. No Ross& Burkes around here that I know of , but then this past year I haven't left the house all that much just don't enjoy shopping . There was a outlet mall out on I30 but the times I was there you had to really watch what ya bought , much of it was seconds and not worth the price.

Was in a Just a dollar store yesterday, finishing up my C. shopping, . It was packed full of people but all were happy and friendly , seemed like old home week. Well until we got to the check out line , all smiling and chatting when in walked a female type person asked the clerk if they had any shopping carts Cashier replied No Mam sorry but they are all in use now. Customer replied """Well thats a crock of $*#& , you just lost MY business """ turned and stormed out the door . It was so stupid cause the young lady in front of us , who was being checked out had reached in and grabbed up the last of her purchases to empty the cart for the new customer she had motioned her young son to push the cart over toward the customer ... We , my daughter and I, didn't have a cart we had just needed a couple items . Rude just flat out rude and dumb behavior.

Having worked retail at Christmas I have seen a lot of that. Some people are stressed and in a hurry and take it out on other people. Normally it's women, because we're the ones usually responsible for most of the extra work that goes into making the holidays nice for everyone.
But since I've been on the other side of the cash register, I try really hard to be nice to the workers even when I am frazzled. They have all the same holiday stresses we do, plus many of them have to work extra hours to meet the holiday rush.

Same here Lin , Rachael and I have both worked behind the register. and dealt with such behavior , had a man threaten to hit me with his cane once----hhahaha--- no worry could have out run him. I think it seemed so out of place since everyone had been so happy and chatty and yeah all of us were tired and frazzled from the crowds and trying to find the "right " gift .

Years ago I got several hundred pairs of white cotton christening and confirmation baby to childs size socks. I tie-died those puppies up and made a killing...

in the city of killeen we have 9 count em 9 Family Dollar stores 7 Dollar General ( 3 in nearby Harker Hights ) 1 Dollar Tree with one store also in Harker Hights and 1 in Copperas Cove. Also if you just can't get away from the house or work during their business hours you can go online and order a few things. We definitely got the dollar store thing covered here.
