My Grandpa even made some of his own tools. I just admire them. I'm not allowed to play with things that might hurt me, lol

I have some old tools that belonged to my grandfather, wood planes, hand drill, etc. One of these days I want to get them out and do some wood carving.

I haven't done any wood carving in probably 20 years at least. It would make a good winter project when I have cabin fever. lol

Ya I have an old Craftsman circular saw I bought in 1967 i believe it was I bought the heavy duty model in an aluminum case and it really is powerful. Not as powerful as a new worm gear model but still very strong. I use this tool still upon occasion. I'd give it to Garrett but don't want him to cut his thumb or something off with it. I still have my fathers old micrometer he used back in the last century, in the forties. I don't remember what else just now. Train

I was a custom cabinetmaker for the last 15 years I worked. Built houses before that. So I still have all my hand tools including routers, saws, drills, pinch dogs, deadblows, chisels, carving tools, belt sanders, etc. To be honest, cooking and baking are a lot more fun and even though gardening might be more physical, it still beats 12 hours/day in a shop!

Ya Wow, Camo and Jbest. Impressive credentials. I was tempted to pull Camo's leg by stating I was a specialist in joinery but I didn't want him to hurt himself laughing. Heheh Train

Heheh Train Train, Seems in todays world everyone's a specialist in joinery! Don't worry, I'm always seated while at the computer and if I see it coming I can always strap in. Enjoy friend, Camo

I'm a mechanic by trade. So I really have a deep appreciation for tools. I absolutely adore tools. I would collect tools if I could afford it. One of my favorite tools is a tool that I've owned for nearly 40 years. It is a wood & brass folding ruler. It was 'old' when I acquired it, so it is probably well over 50 years old. It's 4 feet long, in 4 one foot long sections, joined with brass hinges & has brass end caps. (I think I remember that the center hinge swivels & the others fold) A really cool, retro tool. ;D
