I have lots, but I haven't bought one in years. Hubs listens to Oldies on the radidio all the time. I like a more varied selection of music, lol

Garrett, I have over 5,000 record albums , all in mint shape, most from the 60's and 70's some 80's in bluegrass and country. Earlier records, which I have lots of too, are either 45's or the old 78's. Not sure when I started changing over to CD's and DVD's but have large amounts of both before I started making my own mp-3's on both. Still haven't had the time to convert the favorites to flashdrives.

Wow! I'm in awe, Camo. I use to have a nice collection, but that was before it all got burned up in a U-Haul. It was all loaded up and ready to go in the morning, but during the night somebody set fire to the truck. The best we could figure is that somebody stole the chain saw and either flicked a cigarette in the back or just set it for the hell of it, we know the chainsaw was taken because we never could find any trace of it.

How horrible! Sorry to hear that. Nothing to be in awe over, I've always been a collector, although record albums are the only thing I had to re-enforce floors for, everywhere I've lived. If you think records are impressive you should see my fishing gear, more than most tackle stores carry, for sure. Now its mostly cookbooks and kitchen goodies, unless you count tomato seeds! There was a time I collected rocks...florescent rocks. Back when my son was in cub scouts we got into going to Franklin N.J., the florescent mineral capital of the world, where we would prospect the tailings and old pits of the zinc mines scattered throughout the town. Had quite the collection, till I traded it for old Varga calenders from the 40's and other pin-up artist's from the 40's and 50's.

I'm a collector of sorts........ when I was about 16 years old my uncle bought a farm in western OK and in the barn was a 1917 model Thomas A. Edison phonograph and about 30 old thick records in its cabinet. He gave the set to me including the phonograph. The records include lots of Fox-trots. Hornpipes and marching music by the King of Marches-- John Phillips Sousa. I still have the records but gave the phonograph to a relative since I couldn't move it up to PA. Also... I grew up with country music and developed a love for Bluegrass back in the 50s. I have a collection of about 200 country & bluegrass records from the 50s & 60s. I have one of Glen Campbell's FIRST albums. In the 60s I used to travel around a lot on weekends and went to Music Parks where big names in the business were performing-- Flatt & Scruggs, Jim & Jesse... George Jones, Mac Weisman... Roy Acuff.... Stanley Bros., Bill Monroe & many others!!! I made it a point to shake hands & talk with every one of them. LarryD

I actually have quite a a lot of records cause when we lost grandma no one wanted them and they were going to the dump. I just couldnt throw them out. So here I have all these albums and no player to play them. Oh well I have tons of storage space. Sometimes thats good sometimes no so much. I also have a whole bunch of really old records and the singing is all in Swedish, same like before but great grandmas.

Used to have a lot of 45's and 78's, but it all got to be too much to haul around when we kept moving. I did keep some Johnny Cash and Elvis albums, tho. Thought I might sell them someday, who knows.
