Haha, I just started a New Thread in the Fiber Arts section. LOL ;D Lettuce doesn't come in net bags here anymore. I'm not sure where it is still sold that way. But I'm guessing that onion netting would work as well although it is a little coarser is it not? www.myrecycledbags.com/2008/06/12/my-greenie-pot-scrubber/

Yes but I'd have to go run and buy a bag of grocery store onions , at this time of your I go to lil farmer stands and stuff to get onions. So when the season is over I will get me something like that and see how they work.

Hey Blue!! I had an idea!! You know how women cut a towel in half then crochet the top and put a button on it for the fridge?? Well I was thinking of using the plastic from bags and crocheting on a towel. I know it will work , only thing is you cannot put it in a dryer, they wash up real good tho.

W8in. did you look through her website? She has patterns for all kinds of stuff using netting and/or bags. She might even have a pattern for that? I say try it. you could have matching Scrubbie and Kitchen handtowel I'm going to try the scrubbie tomorrow. She also suggested I try some of the bag patterns; good for beginner's like Me since I'm failing miserably at the patterns the Instructor keeps giving me at Crochet Class

Hey Blue have you seen the pop tab purses?? Really cute!! I would love to make one. But I'd have to get some pop tabs. I know you can buy them off ebay , but I won't do that. I just don't want to crochet them I believe it would take forever!! I'd rather use something eles and thread them together. They make belts and stuff using ribbon and stuff. I think I can do it. It will be fun!!

No, I didn't see the pop tab patterns. I guess some people horde anything, lol. And yes, she has amazing ideas and better yet, shares them with others. I liked the t-shirt rugs. When I get better with the crochet hook I think I'll try one of those. I have a rag rug made by an elderly relative that has seen much better days and needs to be replaced.

The pop-tab purse is pretty cool. I made a set of chain mail years ago for Halloween out of pop-tabs. I thought it looked pretty cool.
The oldest child has been collecting all pop-tabs to turn in at school (since last school year). They get some kind of compensation benefitting the school system by collecting them.

We were saving them for years we gave a 5 gallon bucket to a friends kid, so he could win a pizza in his class. Yea wish I had those again. Yup chain mail been around for a long time!! The school system takes them in for aluminum and use it as they see fit. the class with the most gets a pizza.

So I havn't been doing my pop tab bag... I will get to it tho I have been crocheting a plastic bag .... I am crocheting a bag for a woman up north, she works at the store where we like the light green bags. Hubbs took a bag in the store and showed them (He always brags my handi work up) And this one lady liked it so much!! Usually everyone thinks they are cool but she fell in love. Well the bagger guy said well I have a whole onion bag full of plastic bags if your interested, I said of course!! Well let me tell ya the bag is as high as my waist, it must be for 100#'s of onions!! So I thought I'd take her a bag Only thing is , I left all those bags up north, sighhhh I do have some bags here but not as many as I need .. pfftttt! What was I thinking? LOL
