Well, part of today was spent turning the leaves from last fall. Before the yellow jacket assualt, it was looking great! About half is black dirt quality while the other half is still dry leaves, grass.
hard to beleive, in just three more months it will be time to start all over again.

Garret,
Please don't overdo it hauling the manure. Man, that is some heavy stuff!
Well, maple trees have started turning (about 2 months early). Looks like the drought is having an effect on the trees. Sounds like the bulk of leaf raiding will be early this fall.

Dumped the slops barrel. Lots of grave, gravy. *ick*.
It should kick the compost pile into awake.
Rain is due today which should reduce the perfume.

I keep chopping at my brush pile. Its about half done. Corn stalk festival is a week from friday. With some luck I'll get some of the kitchen discards from them and BTW. Last year these two smaller festivals topped off my compost bin nicely.

I gotta bunch weeds ya can hand harvest !!!!
Boy hay sure has dropped in price around here and they still is a baleing and hauling .
w have had rain in July and august so made for good haying. But we now have west nile in this area due to the excess rain water standing and skeeters breeding.
I dump and clean all water troughs, doggie dishes and birdy baths then refill each day in da early morning . But this is worse skeetter season I have seen in awhile.
My early morning porch and evening porch sitting has stopped ! Heard on news 10 cases of west nile cases and 1 death confirmed in next county over.... Knew Dallas was having a problem but its spreading ....
You be careful out there in the evening!
