gonna be interesting.assuming they sprout from stratification? will pot them up in late feb we'll be 70's days low 50's nights.... curious what growth rates will be. i get the fact that ya'll up north have less grow days than we do? my apple tree will se more and better weather longer than yours.will go dormant later as i understand it. i plan on putting them in the ground next november december in a more nutrative compost ammended soil.a foot away from the trunk. will be adding wood chips...shredded leaves and any organics i can get this next year. will shred it all as i go. hoping they may grow a lil faster with love.

My first year saplings held pretty good inna quart milk container with most of the bottom sawed off and packed tightly for a year or more (with watering).
Its the feet that a tree grows for the first few years. Most trees will tolerate root pruning when dormant. Pawpaw will not.
