How about using some white vinegar to swab down he paper after you've got a few holes in it. It should help soften the glue somewhat if it soaks for a bit.

aawww Bella , you beat me to that suggestion! Lol great minds think alike!!!
I lost my connection earlier so went to the garden to do a bit and remembered using the vinegar so came in to add it onto my other reply!!! I tried some commercial wall paper stripper but it wasn't real effective not considering the price and all.

I've tried the vinegar, I've scored the wall, I've used commercial wall paper remover and it works 'somewhat', but like I said, in some places, it is super stuck! Sometimes, it comes off with the face of the sheetrock. I've used fabric softener, too. All the stuff everybody recommends. The paint people said I need the $60.00 steamer. For one room??? I'm gonna try the steam iron, next.

Oh, I feel for ya, cat....what a pain. Steam iron is a good idea, but wonder if it will have enough steam or pressure?? Certainly worth a try, tho. Let us know how it's going, ok.

I've been offline for a few days because DH and I were putting down laminate floors in the main area of the house (living room, dining room, hallway). It's all done except for the shoe molding I need to spackle (nail holes, joints, corners) and touch-up paint. I was supposed to finish that today, but I was so tired and sore that I just couldn't bring myself to spend hours down on the floor again. Hopefully the soreness will be better tomorrow and I can get it finished. We really like the way the floor looks. I hope it continues to look good for a long time, because I am not anxious to do it again any time soon.

The wall paper mess is still going on. I haven't felt like messing with it much. My ex came over who was a carpenter for many years, and he told me I can sand the pieces that arent' coming off very well, and just put a little bit of spackling on it and sand smooth. I plan on painting with a sponge to give it texture since the wallpaper and the walls are in such a mess. Just have to get back in the mood to do it!
