Fresh green beans, because they always get eaten!! Then the good old tomatoes, of course. Cannot buy that fresh taste from the store. How about you??

Yum....strawberries. We have blueberries, but they don't seem to do so well. Have to find what's up with that.
Think I'll try kale this year, and maybe broccoli again. I get cravings for broccoli for some reason.

The broccoli is still producing from this fall. If I don;'t eat any of it in the garden, I have to fight the dogs for it at the house. The first time I brought a head of broccoli home from the garden. One of the dogs jumped up and grabbed it. Ran outside. By the time I got there, the two had eaten over half of the head.

I never heard of dogs eating broccoli!! ;D Do you have a fence around the garden, or are the dogs in another part of the yard??
If they eat that, they would probably eat a lot of other vegetables, too!!

As for the garden, it is 5 miles from the house. They can only get to the produce when I bring it home.
How did you get sparky to eat lettuce. Mine turn their noses up at it.

The house is located on a 1/2 acre lot with 178 trees. TOO much shade. So I garden at a community garden.

That IS a lot of trees!! We cleared out so many for the house, etc., but do have a good spot in the front. It stays pretty shaded in the afternoon sun. I just hope for a good year this year. Gotta start some hot pepper seeds soon.. It takes a few weeks or more for them to germinate, and I've got planting fever; lol

That's a nice garden, kay. Like the dogs, too. Some of the community gardens in this area got messed with, too. Sometimes people just like to destroy things.

Yup, sure are. Well, we don't have to be that way. It's all good if we help each other somehow, and just do the golden rule thing.

First veggie I look forward to the most that doesn't make it out of the garden is the first ear of sweet corn!
Of course, the first cherry tomatoes never make it out of the garden either, but it is the sweet corn I look forward to the most! ;D

Rhubarb first, then Asparagus. After that it seems for-ever until the green beans start to snap!
I love all veggies pretty much, but those signal the beginning of the season for me

Well, I don't know what else they would expect you to do if you don't have a ride there. They don't seem to value employees like they used to. When we bought our farm almost 20 years ago, I went for job interviews in the nearest city. First ? was always, "What will you do if it snows". Answer: Get up earlier and drive to work slower. Apparently, this was a response they'd not heard from women living that far out of town. Needless to say, I got hired.
