18F outside. Mutt wasn't long outside this morning, Brrrrrr. 40% "chance" of snow. Yep, that's why it's started snowing Friday and hasn't stopped for more than a couple of hours since? If that's 40% I'd like to know what they think 100% would be Shouldn't complain though, it's beautiful out there and we really haven't had much of wintry weather here until now. But it did get me to wondering this morning Where do those dadburnit Squirrels go when the weather outside is frightful?

See those big clumps of leaves at the top of the trees? Usually where a couple of branches come together. Those be squirrel nests. That's where momma and the younguns are sleeping during bad cold if they can't find a nice dry hole ... at least that is what they do here in Oklahoma ;D

With the way the winds are blowing here the past few days and the amount of snow falling, I sure wouldn't want to be in a nest way up in a tree like that. Wonder if Squirrels can get seasick?

Here they not only hide in the leaf nests but also the hollow trees or any cavity in the trees and the flying squirels will get in my bird boxes, if the entry hole isn't big enuff they chew it out to their size..
been so cold all weekend! I checked my strawberry plants today--they are fine!!! also the onuions garlics and various greeens I got growing...

Brrr, poor little strawberry plants....brrrrrrr
Onions and garlic just go dormant in the cold. And most greens are cold resistant, but those poor little strawberries...just makes my bones ache with the cold thinking about them in snow....brrrrr
