Hey Red, Found one of them there tree punkins today. I was weeding around the raised beds and saw a legacy Argonaut fruit hanging from the Satsuma tree. It was about 10-12 inches long and about 2-3 in diameter. I think I snapped its main stem while weeding tho as the leaves were wilting by dark.

I'm letting one of the zucchini r. go to pumpkin status. It's about 2 feet long, U shaped, and about 3 inches in diameter. How about that?

OK, here's one for the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't file ... back in August, there was a pumpkin on top of the leaves about 5" across. The ex and I commented about it. 3 days later, when we were out counting the fruit, we COULD NOT find that fruit at all!!!! Not on the ground, not anywhere. Just gone.

The pumpkin patch is loading up for a last spurt. Several won't be ripe before frost but a few will. Marconi peppers and turnip greens are producing well. 5 types of lettuce, Ragged Jack, and Muscade carrots are planted this weekend.

OK, these are 3 largest of the 5 that grew from my Amish Pie seeds: Largest (frisbee is 12") Next largest 3rd largest Color difference between largest and smallest that is youngest So, with the colder weather coming on Thursday with 40s-50s daytime high and 35-30 lows at night, should I pull these and will the larger ones continue to mature the seeds?

No need Garret, the pumpkin patch is going on hiatus for the coming year. Dad is too old to keep it watered for me and my 1/4 acre city yard will just have some Tatume grownon a trellis.

I've got 1 PDC that is close to being ready that is about twice as long as the ones last year and a couple more that are a week or 2 old. One L.I. Cheese that is a few weeks along, a couple young either Long of Naples or Argonaut legacy fruits (can't really tell them apart). The Mystery Moschatas have probably 8-10 decent sized ones out there.
Seems like every couple of days I'm noticing one I don't remember seeing before. Now if the temps will stay above frost for another month, I should be in great shape.

We have not had much luck with punkins --- I don't know if we are planting them too early or too late or what the deal is. Can grow great squash---summer ---- and had good results with kushaws but those are well adapted to southern growing. there are so many different squash or punkins now on the markets . I enjoy this thread with all the different pics of the different types so pretty and even those warty ones --lol

All I'm going to grow in the squash line is Tatume. I'm cutting back on square footage in the coming year. My best wintersquash so far is Tahitian Melon from southernexposure.com. Zone 8b and humid with scattered droughts.
