I am going to try some Seminole Pumpkins again, I think. I have a store-bought butternut on my counter that looks like a Waltham. Butternuts are C. moschata, so I may save seeds when I cut it and try to grow them out. Could be a hybrid, but I will still probably get something close to the original. I also got some C. maxima types in a seed trade. Not sure I want to try those due to the SVBs...and they probably make huge vines that I don't have space for. I wonder what I'll get if I let the Seminoles and butternuts cross....? In a perfect world, I'd get the extreme heat and humidity tolerance of Seminole plus great-tasting squash with a meaty neck.

;D Or maybe: Semibutters Necknoles Nuttynoles (as a Gator fan, I favor this one ). Or I could be boring and call them Seminole Neck Pumpkins. But for trying to name a cross I haven't even done - much less stabilized - you could say I am Semi-nuts.
