Does anyone take anything for sleeping?? Lately, we aren't sleeping well at all. We think it might be just that we're old, ;D but we take melatonin off & on, and it does help a litte, but you're not supposed to take it every night. Valerian does nothng for me, and same with warm milk. I don't like taking daytime naps, because then I get nightmares. Any ideas?? I'm beginning to feel like a zombie some days.

Great idea, except I have to take it a bit easy with that because my health isn't so great. I do have an exercise ball, small weights, and some other stuff I use, so that does help. I think I get enough exercise, since hubby's been making wood, and I drag the brush; and that tires me out. ;D Why the sleeping problem, I don't know. Another melatonin at night just might be the ticket, tho.

I have always been a night owl. Any sleep meds leave me so dang groggy and yucky feeling the following day that I just don't do them. Even tried cutting sleep pills in half and still had that problem.
One thing I have found is cutting off the tv-radio-and computer -- then reading for a little while til I feel sleepy. I did read some where that late night computering does tend to make us more wide awake--- something to do with the moniter lighting and partly it- the pc-- acts as a stimulant --so does tv and radio .
So develope a late evening bedtime routine that is conducive to relaxing --- bath reading or what ever . Just like we did with our small children.

Thanks, marielouise; I am a night owl too, and am used to just staying up late. Any pills make me a bit groggy the next day, too, and I don't really like the prescription ones, with all the side effects. I've heard of people cooking & eating at night, and even driving, and don't remember it the next day. Scary. One thing, I also tend to be a worrier, and if there is something on my mind I cannot do anything about, it bugs me, and I need to just learn to let it go. I agree that tv, pc, etc; probably do act as stimulants, so I don't have those on when in bed, and usually do take a book with me, and that eventually helps me to relax. Guess whatever this is, will pass. It's no fun having days & nights mixed up.

I do know how the mind will latch onto an idea and then it goes on and on---sometimes problems sometimes just some weird what if thing almost bad as talking to oneself--- course that aint all bad til ya get that 3rd party into the conversation and he wants to argue
