Oh, sure! Now that's a downright mean, nasty question if ever I saw one! Just one? ? Rassa-frassa-rumble-grumble! Guess I'd hafta say overall, last season it was Indian Stripe. But there should be several others mentioned as neck-and-neck with IS. Dang, that was actually painful!

Having grown all that are listed thus far, and not one is bad, my favorite for last year was Purple Dog Creek. A large sized pink tomato that out performed all others last year. (70 some odd). It was my first growing PDC and I found it to be quite impressive, both in taste and production. Last year wasn't the best year for tomatoes here, may not have been the worst, but it was darn close. On top of that, it was going up against all my old favorites. My best Brandywines, Brandywine crosses, Barlow Jap, Sandul Moldovan, Mrs Benson, Amazon Chocolate, DDR, Earls Faux, Stump of the World...the list goes on. #1, top of the list...Purple Dog Creek! I received seed from Ginny in Mich. who claimed it to be the best tomato she ever grew. From my experience with it last year, I'd have to agree. I know, one year isn't the best way to decide on a favorite. But, as of right now, It's my first choice to grow. If you get a chance, give it a try. Will still be planting Liz Birt, Cowlick and Brandywine-Glicks, as well as Amazon Chocolate, and DDR and Kukla's Portugese Beefsteak and my own DDRXBWC as well as Tarasenko6 but I'm really looking forward to trying Purple Dog Creek again! Enjoy! Camo

Only one? Ok, if I have to pick one it's Pierce's Pride after growing it last summer. Followed closely by Cherokee Purple and Kellogg's Breakfast.

Picking "best" tomato depends on which memory of summers passed prods the day.
Fer today, knowing my answer tomorrow will be different:
Whites: snow white
Yellow: (aunt) Esthers cherry ***Update*** I finaly stumbled across the right name for this tomato; "Esther Hess' ".
pink: Olena's Ukrainian, Tibet appel, Preacher
brown: Nyagous cherokee chocolate
Mm that'll do for today.

I started laughing when I saw this post come up again, thinking to myself, Why are there NO Hillbilly's listed on this here Redneck Acreage?? But there it is, in the midst of a bunch of fancy imported ones.... You're a Good Gardener, Mr Redperson
