Yawls maters wayyyyyy ahead of mine!!! I just now getting blooms and few baby maters showing up. So do you pinch off dem dang ole suckers or leave em be. which works better for yua. jim and I kinda argue the point and left suckers this year and seems like we gots of of growth and almost no greenies maters yet.
We pinched suckers today on some plants ! Usually leave them be once the plants are blooming and setting maters.

It will take long enough for the Sapling-In-Cheif to get around to picking up my extra's, so that any that get cut-wormed, I will be able to rob Peter to pay Paul with, with singles. I have a few six packs to go to freecycle. Life looks good (so far).

DD, do you use BT? I just had to do my first spraying day before yesterday. Had a hornworm and 2 other types of worms threatening tomatoes. Found a couple of worms this morning hanging off of leaves, but no longer threatening much of anything!

Picked three more this morning no sign of damage to these. I have no idea anymore how many maters have set but it is a bunch. I have one plant that is in a 3 foot round cage and it has so many suckers it has completely filled the cage and is growing out side it all the way around. Since the cage openings are 6 inches I know it is now at 5 foot tall all ready. It set mostly fused blossoms at first which a few set most dropped. It has now started to set a ton of maters.
My KBX, Kellogs Breakfast, Orange Minsk and others you guys gave me seeds for I am hoping get big enough before the real heat sets in to survive it then set some maters by the end of the season.
Heck the seeds I got from someone were supposed to be true red brandywine but these are as potato leaved a plant as they can be. They are even setting tomatoes so it has been a good season so far. In the last 3 years I have got 2 brandywine tomatoes.

I always trellis and will prune tomato till they are tall enough to twine into trellis standing up. Then they can bush up as fat as they please.

I'm interested in seeing how this one turns out. Bag any blooms? Would I do something like that? ;D Actually my first bag resulted in all blossoms dropping - we got too hot too fast and it actually gets a little hotter inside the bags even if they are toulle. Since the rains have come and brought 80's/60's for the week coming, I expect current bag to result in maters. It's a mild flavored tomato with a brightness to the flavor. Pretty meaty, but the meat is not dense. Some juiciness, small seed locules. The one pictured is actually turning out to be average to a little on the small size for these maters. I intend to make sauce from them.

I am hoping to get something from The Kellogs and KBX this year Red they never really got big before I got them in the ground. I have so many seeds they will be number one next year when I get plants going. All ready got a new Jiffy pellet 72 cell starter kit for next year so I am ready. I will get me an orange mater though this year I have a feeling just need some rain.
The one plant I have I have no idea what it is threw off nothing but fused blossoms but the maters it set are 4 to 5 inches by 3 plus tall so I cant wait to try one. Get a picture when they turn some color.

get you a spool of clear fishing line--- some sticks to stick in da ground all around garden then string that fishin line bout 3 ft. high top layer then bout 15 or 16 inches high for lower layer--- ya want the deer to feel it but since they can't see it they will not even try to jump over it.... lower level for the bambies following their mama. we strung some up around Jimbos punkin and watermelon patches one year and they walked all around it every night but didn't jump in. so I did my spinach patch that fall and kept them out. thats for white tails -- for muleys might need to be a bit higher--- we just have white tails here.
