That's Early Ssubakus Aliana - Some folks say it's a paste but it's really more like a grape tomato to me, we eat them by the handfull throughout the summer time!

Am starting a blitz of fall tomoatoes... plants are either on the front porch in full shade or on the windowsills, 2-6 leaves each, depending.
Matt's Wild Cherry Dr. Carolyn-- these 1st two I've never tried Cherokee Purple Pink Ponderosa Great White Riesentraube-- these four didn't produce a single ripe tomato before frost. Great white and Riesentraube never produced a tomato at all. We had historic drought and heat. Cosmonaut Volkov-- nothing special for taste, but it did produce last year. purple tomatillo-- two tomatillos outproduced 10 times that many tomatoes last year.
Tomato season 2011 forgettable at the least. This year can only be the same or better. Am longing for the conditions of 2009, which was an amazing fall with a late frost.

I think I have some Matt's Wild Cherry Volunteers that will be ready for fall. At least they are close to where last years MWC was. They are slow growers, inside. I only have one with more than two leaves. I forgot, am trying Arkansas Traveler too.

All those pictures of ripe tomatoes are making me drool. I haven't even set my tomato plants out in the garden yet. We've got a couple nights of temps down into the 40's coming up so I'm waiting a few more days.

Awww, that's so sweet. Y'all are sharing your bounty. My neighbour shared with me. She works in a grocery store and they had table top tomato plants for sale that got marked down so far they were given away to the employees. She brought two plants home for me. We've had cherry tomatoes for 3 nights now. Not all that tasty but at least they are fresh!

I think I have some Matt's Wild Cherry Volunteers that will be ready for fall. At least they are close to where last years MWC was. Are they good candidates to go in containers, either the hanging variety or the 5 gallon pot?

Got my first tomato big enough to slice tonight - 4 oz! It's a whopper I'm telling you! It's supposed to be amazon chocolate but i'm concerned that it doesn't seem true to type - sure was delicious though!

Put outside 15 more tomato and pepper plants. The first ones I set outside, not looking too well. If I could figure it out, I'd be better off I'm sure. I tried breaking in plants that grew to 1 gallon size indoors, & they suffered when put outside last year. A few weeks ago, I put out about 16 of the plants with about 4 leaves each, too small apparently to be ready. They've turned this light green, unhealthy looking color and basically stopped growing but only one has actually died. The ones I put out tonight are an in-between size. I did find the perfect container to put outside though; it's a plastic piece that holds 20 ounce cups; found it at Lowe's before they were going to throw it out. I got two; would've gotten more but that was all they had right then. I leave the corner spaces open and weigh it down with pieces of brick or rocks, to keep high winds from blowing it over. The goal is July 1, to have the fall garden out there!

Direct, when you put your plants outside, how much sun are they getting? Are you container gardening, or putting them into a garden bed?
It sure sounds like something is stressing them ... have you tried a feeding of compost tea to give them a boost?
