Sunnylands is apparently known as the Camp David of the West; a place where Presidents and Heads of State discuss that which concerns we the people. It has a most unusual garden, with 53,000 plants. Being in CA many are cactus and succulents in formal designs. Absolutely stunning. I think I'm going to put this on my Wish List of Places to Visit. sunnylands.org/page/2/center-and-gardens

I really didn't care much for cacti/succulents either until I drove through the southwest last year. Then I learned the names of different varieties and some of the uses for them. I have two postcards over my desk now that remind me of the beauty in the southwest and CA. One card is of date palms and mountains, the other showcases 20 varieties of Cacti. Beautiful! The idea of a formal garden with thousands upon thousands of plants like this is mindblowing.
