The ones in the first post are mainly petrified wood---pet wood--lol-- and agate some alabaster, thats the white behind the wood in the very first pic, some obsidian --- yep some low grade amethyst - and those X marks the spot---hahahha-- not sure what they are .
I don't see any of my fossils in these will get some pics of them tomorrow. and I don't see any of the malachite --
In the second or the face rock---- and that is what it looks like --looks almost like a petrified smushed mummified head. It has some crystals scattered across it and in the "mouth "cavity -- I imiagine its agate or something on that order. caint be humanoid cuz they weren't any in the south west long enuff ago to be petrified ---
mebbe a long lost relative to Big Foot!!!!

Pretty neat collection there, marie. Yes, that one does look like a mummy head; is it some kind of flint?? We've a lot of that here, and quartz also. Mostly lead, I think...kids have collected some arrowheads, and used to look for fossils, but now they've kind of outgrown that, I guess. I have always collected rocks; as a kid, I lugged home big ones from the river, and my Mom would ask what she was supposed to do with all those rocks. ;D Hubby's sis and I bring rocks home from our vacations, too. What's funny is when you go in the expensive gift shops and see rocks from other states or countries. We look for native rocks, for sure.

Bella I also lugged home rocks from the time I was walking according to Mom. Dads job moved us from one job to the next. We always had to pack our own rooms and mark our names on the boxes along with helping Mom pack. So once the movers came in to load up our stuff, one came in the kitchen where Mom was and asked her about my boxes--If she wanted all of them to go. Well Yes Why??? Do you know she has 3 boxes of rocks and one of cactus! Well yes , she collects both ! If she has it packed it goes ... Ok jsut wondering if you knew.

That's funny, marie!! I don't know whatever happened to the stuff I collected, but do think it all got left behind when we moved.
Now I mostly collect the colorful ones for the rock tumbler, and the larger fossils are arranged in the flower gardens. Smaller ones make it ti the house, usually. ;D
Coffeebreak, that's a really cool dinosaur; definitely a keeper. The other reminds me of the Easter Island monoliths.

Just a lil story : We were up north and around our fire ring we put river rock .. our neighbors came over for a bon fire and the lil 6 year old girl picked up a rock that was shaped like a heart .... I found this out from the gramma the next day..... I said did she keep it gramma said yes.. I said thats good because I'd be out there searching for it if she hadn't lol...... Sorry just love to tell lil stories hehehe

cute story Wendy! But really I know that I would miss some of mine, we did have a water feature a few years back and each rock was named --LOL--- each had its own spot along with the drift wood....
My granddaughter comes over and every once in a while she will go looking through the flower beds for the ""fossil"" rocks. I hadn't realized it til I rearranged some around front and she came in all upset cuz the one big rock with the fern leaves in it was missing. One day her and her little friend were outside giggling up a storm , she had been showing the other girl the fossils and pointed out the one and told her friend "" thats a fossilized heap of dung"". The friend asked "" whats dung???"" they were about 7 at the time so when she replied """ a pile of chit "" it started off the giggling. then they got embarrassed when they saw daughter and I cuz thats a big nono word around here..We were trying sooo hard not to laugh decided to go inside and check the oven...
