I love .. absolutly LOVE to star gaze I am not savvy at the constellations and such but I did see those planets When I was a kid I liked to sleep outside so I could look uo into the starts and watch falling stars .......... I love it!!!! It amazes me to this day!! I am going to be 52 years old and the stars still catch my breath ....

As a kid we also spent a lot of time star gazing , knew most all the constellations and the myths, legends and stories --- still remember the main ones but have forgotten so many. too much else going on now .
OHHH crap, its clouded up since night fall so cannot see Pegasus tonight here. I ran out to look .
did any one else go look at it...

Ahhh; thanks for the neat pic, coffeebreak. I had gotten my grandson a telescope for Christmas, but he'll need better lenses to see planets, etc., so I'm going to order some for him.
Clouded up here too, so didn't see anything tonight; dang.
I've always loved stargazing too; ever since I was a kid. Used to sit out at night and wonder who or what else was out there that we didn't know about. Makes us & our problems seem pretty insignificant.

Oh gosh I dont really remember exactly any of them. Been too many years and lots of waters and bridges crossed since then.
Most were sorta what we called old Indian chief storys!
Others were about things we were bothered about-- just thinly disguised and mixed up with metaphors even before we knew what that was. A way of talking round bout what was really on our minds.
One time the boy next door told one and we knew it was all about what ever him and his girl friend at the moment had broke up over --things like that . Kids --- we were kids and as confused and mixed up as kids today.
My older brother was good at telling interesting ones but ya knew that there was gonna be a ZINGER at the end when ya was least expecting it... Haa he still has that great sense of humor always with a twist to it..

Beautiful pics, Wendy!!! Thanks for sharing with us!! We didn't get the best view. So many trees, and it was so hazy we couldn't see it all that well. Cleared up now, and it's still pretty; I love the moon. Coyotes were howling, too....I like to hear them.

Careful Wendy...is that where the mothman is?? J/K; Oh, those are so pretty. I tried to get some with my camera, but it's just a white spot. So I'll just look at yours, lol I like how you have it kind of framed in the trees. It is easy to see the 'man in the moon' tonight, tho!!

It was sooo bright through the window that it was difficult to get to sleep. I was just reading an article that said it's brightness overshadowed Haley's Comets appearance. We won't see Haley's again in our lifetime. It's last appearance was in 1986, next one is 2061. But that sure was a Super Moon

Very pretty, Charles. Guess I should've experimented a bit more with my camera, cuz I'm not familiar with all of the settings as yet. But y'all did a great job with yours.
