This morning our Ash got up and while papa was running his bath decided that every tuning peg on every instrument that has one needed to be turned so that they all formed a straight line on their instruments.
Four six string guitars, a twelve string, a dulcimer, an oud (Egyptian lute), and a violin.
I suppose we may be happy that he doesn't know where the harp key is, else all the flat sides on the harp and autoharp pegs would have been lined up too.
*sigh*

;D ok, you probably don't think that's too funny, nightmist, but I can just see a little one doing that. Did you get it all 'fixed' yet??

I did a couple of guitars, but DH did the rest. He has perfect pitch, so I am perfectly happy to let him tackle anything with co-tuned strings! Ash has his own guitar, and he generally keeps the pegs lined up. I hope someday he will want to play it, but right now he is happy being fascinated by papa's playing. Ash is 12 and autistic. We often get a lot of orderliness imposed upon us.

Oh dear; I didn't know, nightmist. Our 10 yr old grandson may be autistic, and he does want some things a certain way. Also, when he gets interested in something, he digs up all the info he possibly can find on it. Bless their hearts - they are also gentle souls.

I'll tell you what, that boy LOVES music. Darn good thing too, considering the household!
He watches his daddy play and he is just riveted. When I sing he watches my mouth and feels my cheeks and throat. He even noticed my breathing and lays his hands over my belly just like my old voice teacher did. He loves to mess around with the old casio keyboard, and he is always singing. We can't understand a lot of what he sings except by melody, but he is getting better at the words with practice. That is just something right there and just thrills us no end.
I am just adequate on guitar, I can accompany myself plus a little. I am trying to get better so I have set myself the task of learning Carter picking. He is just fascinated, and is always feeling the guitar body, keeping a close watch on my fingers and etc. The only problem I have with his interest is he keeps trying to take the finger and thumb picks off my hand. I imagine he figures that they are keeping me from playing as well as Daddy does. I suppose that is one excuse. ;D
