I've got pink and purple cages. Aren't they purty? I never caged Tomatillos, they stood alone a little too well, lol What variety is the potato leaf?

Yes, they are purdy! Lol! I had that old cage I all bent up just to use it. But thanks for the info on the tomatillo's...it is my first year for them. Potato leaf...Amazon Chocolate or Marianna's Peace. I am not sure which.

Penny, I've been putting my larger seedlings outside on the deck every day for the past 3 or 4 days. Now this morning, the temperature has plummeted back into the 40's and is supposed to stay cool for the upcoming week. Oh well, it was too early anyway.
I googled last frost date for here and was surprised to find that it is early May, not May 2-4 weekend. I'll definitely be planting early here this year but with Wall-O-Waters and frost blankies on standby just in case.

Blue, If they had purple and pink my garden would have been all Purple and Pink! Lol! Sorry Penny...I know you have a very short growing season up there. I counted the little tomatoes forming on my Amazon Chocolate...wow! I think I have 4 on the one plant already. I can't wait...well, could be marianna's peace. I got them mixed up. I have a lot of little maters on Cherokee purple but my other plants are still to small right now. They need more growing time.

Thanks, Coppice! I know I look at other people's gardens and say the same thing! The top Tomato that is potato leaf has 5 tomatoes on it!!!! I am so excited! I am not sure if it is amazon chocolate or Marianna's peace...but it is doing so well! There will be tomatoes this year! Thank God! Could use a little more rain but it's looking much better than last year.

V are you down around Houston area---your black ground looks very much like what my brother had in his yard when he lived in Houston--- black gumbo when wet and when dried black concrete---according to him. AAWWW he worked so hard on that yard while he lived there...

Yes, marielouise! I am not too far from Houston. It is exactly like that...Ugh! Not a perm location though...If go south I can get some sandy loam there. My location is so easy and central. The dirt is already dried up and cracking in some places! We desp. need some rain!
