Grrrr.....I quit ordering from Burgess some time ago, because they sent out dead plants, and when I complained, they replaced them - with more dead plants. They did return my money...eventually. Gurney's isn't too bad, as they will replace anything that doesn't make it. However, when we ordered four 2 yr. blueberry plants, they sent six 1 yr. plants, since they ran out of the others. Would have been nice if they had let us know first. I ordered some things from Summerstone nursery a couple weeks ago, and never got anything, so emailed them yesterday. They replied today, saying they ran out of what I ordered (ALL of it, about 6 plants) and will look into sending a refund. Surely, there must be some place that values their customers?? I had good luck with Burpee in the past, but now I hear they are all owned by the same company; possibly Monsanto?? Dunno that for sure, tho...... Local is best, but there are some things I just can't find locally, so I do end up ordering some things.

I've read some decent reviews on iDig about Stark Bros. Have you tried them? www.starkbros.com/

I've used Raintree in the past (several years ago) with good success.
I am really happy with Bay Laurel Nursery - they sent beautiful strong trees this January. But they only sell fruit trees and bushes, so I don't know whether that helps you.

Thanks everyone, I'll check those out and see if they have what I am looking for.
I believe we did order from Stark bros. years ago, but havent gotten their catalogs for awhile.
At least it's not too late in the season to start over, so that's good.

My family has used Stark bros for over 40 years. I would highly recommend them if they carry what you want.

I don't do a lot of mail order plants, but I have been happy with what I have gotten from Miller's. This year, I bought a 3-in-1 asian pear tree which seems to be settling in quite well. Also got some black raspberry plants. Don't think I'll get anything off of them this year, but they are taking. All were shipped bare root. In the past, I ordered a clematis collection which did well. A very long time again, I got grapes, but I was not into spraying as much as the grapes needed so pulled them out.

I agree with Zinniagirl. Millers has always been the best when I've ordered. I had good results with Starks early one but the last two times I ordered from them I wasn't happy. Millers has always sent healthy trees that have done well here. As big or bigger than the size stated. The last time Stark sent trees they were considerably smaller than they were supposed to be. The last fruit trees I bought I bought at a nursery on sale late in the season. They have both done well. Jay
