Are you planning on saving the seed just for trading or are you going to try for a fall crop of bell peppers? They are nice ones.

Saving seed of these is simple as can be.
Cut open pepper, shake seeds out onto paper plate, dry. Done.

2nd that Red do not Ferment your pepper seeds your pepper seeds need to be ripe in order to save them. if the pepper are still green the seeds are immature and will not grow you can pick some ripe pepper remove the seeds and dry them on a paper towel or leave some pepper on the plant to get ripe and then dry on the plant then remove the seeds for next year.

Might want to go ahead and plant those if the seed has cracked it's casing. It looks like you might have had them soaking overnight, so they may be ready to sprout ... hope they do OK for you

Red Pepper seeds are not like Tomato seeds that you do not need to ferment them before you can save them if you are getting ready to grow some then YES I always soak them in water for a couple of days before I plant them but not to save them.

I didn't order any bell pepper seeds, and couldn't find a lot of selection, & the quadratto seeds I ordered awhile back didn't germinate.
Are wonder bells the same as California bell? That was pretty much all the selection that was available here, other than "pepper mix". Garrett's organic book says it is widely available but has disease issues. It hasn't given me any problems, other than getting easily sunscalded.
