I scored 30+ quart canning jars for $3, a gallon jar (need lid for vacuume sealing), and another free kerosene lamp w/ 1/2 gallon of lamp oil ;D

ooohhh ahhh oooh la la ! you did great!!! what kind of lid does that gal jar take ---- my one and only gal jar takes a wide mouth size ! Is yours larger or smaller or is it one of those great big pickle jars . I have a 2 gal pickle jar like they used to sell those big ole dill pickles at the drive ins movie shows---- who else remembers those? ? Now I keep pennys in it!!! holds a bunch of pennys lots and lots of pennys. Kept it in the corner of living rm and Mom used to worry somebody would walk off with it!!! She didn't realize how heavy the dang thing is once its half full of pennys!!

Marie, I'll have to check ... I think it takes a lid that is larger than the widemouth quarts.
I do think it was a pickle jar in another life ;D
Red, I have been canning for several weeks but haven't used any of the new jars yet ... still need to get two boxes of them washed and sterilized ... my Clemson Spineless Okra is just starting to get into production, so pickled okra soon LOL
Wendy, I have had several week-long power outtages here over the years and I can't ever have too many lamps ;D They are the best during a winter power outtage LOL
