I really like the garbage can with the woodburning which does good things for it! And the dresser is beautiful ... and so is the shed.
We now have laminate floors in our house, which I am so-so about. It looks great, but I am not supposed to MOP them! ... because water could get down between the "planks" and soak in and ruin the floor! Plus, DH doesn't want to let the dog and cat in (much) anymore 'cause they could scratch up the floor! ... so although it looks good, I am only so-so okay with it.
One of the best things we have done, is get rid of a lot of old "stuff" that has been sitting around for years! It is too hard to clean around all that "stuff," it is just a waste of space! DH has put boxes and boxes of his "stuff" into a 12' x 40' "shed" we now have next to our house which helps a whole lot. Old 60's paintings ... lots of old books ... just given away, no big loss!

Tadaaa!! That's a really solid looking ramp for the shed. How is it reinforced? Mine, you don't know what you're going to get when you drive on it. I shoud have stained/ sealed it. Fortunately/ unfortunately have only had to mow the yard once since July 23.

I am not sure what the ramp is reinforced with... I will have to ask Dave ... he makes stuff strong to last. He doesn't want to do something twice. Will probably seal this but it was with treated wood. but still we want it to last.
Tasty we are going to put laminate floors in our cabin. (Someday) and tile also, I am afraid it will be cold all the time. You know us womens don't have much blood in our bones . I know your not supposed to mop them with water, but they have those steam mops that are really good. We will try and put carpets over top the wood. I love my steam mop except I left it at my daughters house .....

Hey w8in, I've been googling about laminate floors and steam mops, some folk online say their floors were ruined by using a steam mop ... I think it depends on what kind of laminate floor you purchase, plus it depends on how it is installed ... I read some people put a thin bead of glue(?) along each plank as it is installed onto the next plank so water/steam then could not get down into the cracks between the planks ... I do NOT know. I know when ours has been installed, we did not get the carpenter to glue the sides of each plank, which would have actually been a ridiculous amount of work with the possibility of dripping glue on the new floors. I'm just glad we didn't put this laminate in the bathrooms and kitchen.

We had old, wool, nasty 1940s carpet in the craftsman style house when we bought it. It took me 10 years of "negotiating" with the old man before he finally gave in and I ripped that crap up as quick as I could get furniture moved! Best thing I ever did because below that nasty, crappy carpet were beautiful oak hardwood floors that had been protected by that carpet for 75 years! Oh, yeah baby!!! Funny story: what finally convinced the old man to let me pull the carpets was that he was afraid his feet would be cold ... well, he never goes anywhere without shoes ... house shoes, outside shoes, something so that really wasn't my concern as I had always kept him in slippers and house shoes. But, what really tipped the balance was that we went camping and I promised him he would not be cold, nor hot, nor want for anything. Since I grew up tent camping all summer long, I knew I could make good on that promise. Well, we were only going for 2 nights, but he was so comfortable that we extended it to a whole week! LOL Also, before I pulled the carpet, he was worried about what the floor would look like ... he figured it would be subfloor, so I priced laminate flooring ... geesh! The price was something like $5.95/sq.ft. So, I priced bundles of oak flooring strips and they were $10 per 15/sq.ft. bundle! Way cheaper! Then we found the floor ... ;D
