I tried one of those steam mops on our tile floor and it did absolutely nothing. We use a sponge mop, but I told dh the other day that the floor needs a hand scrubbing, and he said it had just been mopped the other day. Well, there's nothing like a good scrubbing to get things clean, so one of these days...... I'm really not a clean freak, but dirt and dust bug me. If I could, I would hose down the place, then I'd know its clean. ;D
Hubby says carpet keeps it warm too, but I don't like carpeting; I've taken up carpeting in an older house, and the yuck underneath was gross. Mostly sand, which isn't going to come up with vacumming, I would much rather have hardwood floors, in spite of the maintenance involved.

Yep, when I took up the carpet and found the hardwood floors, I put down 4 5'x9' area rugs down the length of the living room ... I want hard wood floors, but just to be seen around the edge of the room. I just bought 2 blank-field area rugs with a greek key boarder, one with a flower medallion in the center and those three, side-by-side, anchor the recliners, couch and entertainment center at one end of the great room, and another with a southwestern medallion to anchor the dining set. I like green, but the old man spotted some of the area rugs in navy blue, so we will probably get a set of those and change them out this summer ;D And storage is simple ... roll them up, take a piece of baling twine (got lots of those between the dog's hay bales and the bunnies ) and tie them, stack them on their ends in the basement ... but my guess is they will shortly disappear into the DDs apartment ;D

I am real late on this post but I LOVE the trays. I have done some woodburning myself but nothing lately.
