Congrats on the increased speed. I swiched recently to verizon fios and it is very fast compared to what I had. I know how frustrating it is to go outside cause I got tired of waiting for something to download. Would come back later and see if it finished.

Never mind waiting for Videos, I had trouble on dialup opening emails most days. We moved back to civilization before high speed was available where we farmed. We were in a dead zone between two service providers and neither one wanted to install the equipment for high speed. There were no other options then.
Congrats Grapenut on entering the 21st Century!

We only have two options-- AT &T and satellite. Satellite is more expensive and not any faster than what we have now. AT&T gives me a different answer about upgrading when I ask them each time. The first answer was that it isn't available. The second is that it is available but there aren't enough lines to carry it (not sure why there's a line then to carry one at 1/2 the speed). The third is that they will upgrade the internet speed, but only if we buy their cable too. My conclusion: two of the three answers are lies, & good luck figuring out which one is the right one. Each employee is told to give a certain answer by his boss. If I had another option I'd take it, but there aren't any other providers in the unincorporated part of the county.

I have the same problem half mile one way they have cable half mile the other way they have cable, will they put it down my road??? Nope yea you can get satellite but I hate satellite, my friends have it, it goes out if it gets too cloudy. Better than dial up but still. So I heard about the hot spot, thru verizon I know we get a verizon signal, so it made sense to me ....... That and I can take it with me anywhere I go, you know how much I travel around, and so far (knock on wood) I have not gone anywhere that I didn't get a signal ..... It rocks!! I know there are a few more out there but I don't get a signal from them... You can go to their site and see if you get a signal where your at. Now if Cable ever comes thru, I am not sure I want it, I am sure it is faster than my hotspot , but I cannot take it with me

Hi all, thanks for the reply's. To tell the truth...the only reason I got it out here is because my brother works for the phone company and called in some favors so he could get it, then he got it for me...we only get between 1/3 and 1/4of the bandwidth out here...but it sure beats the 25kps I was getting before...things are so much better on the internet now...I love it!

My brother takes care of a lot of problems that his so called boss is suppose to take care of and makes his boss look good...so my brother asked for this a little over a year ago and his boss finally made good ;D
