Those darn deer are eating my pole beans from the outside of the fencing! In desperation I took those dumb little wire tomato cages, stuck the small end into the fencing and wraped the end wires around the fence. they are sticking out at about deer head level! One year I tied plastic bags all over the outside of the fence but that looked terribly tacky and within the week the deer didn't care and went back to munching my peas. Any other ideas?

Silentmeow, last year, we strung solar Christmas lights all across the top of the fence and set them to blink on and off. Our main problem with deer was during the night so this worked great. They were afraid to jump over the lights.
Anything that flashes, clangs or moves is supposed to scare them. Good luck; it's frustrating to lose your stuff to deer.

The mono line worked for Jimbo with his pumpkins one year so that fall I fenced my spinach with it --worked to keep the deer out for us.
This spring ---the deer had not been around so we didn't do the watermelons, they are out a way from the garden in a field ---- welll guess what Jimbo found out behind a brush pile last week----- they rolled our melons out there then stomped and ate em... Its bout 4 acres away from where the melons are planted. But they have not snacked on not one thing in the garden . We have chickens in a house nearby the garden and night time we run a radio to keep critters from climbing in so we are thinking that the music also keep the deer away .
