This may be a little dated... Garrett started this in July. I recently had a very calming and life changing experience. I'm normally very private but this seems like the place to share this kind of story. If I pause for to long I'll get somewhat emotional. I'm gonna breeze right thru this sucker.
About a month ago my dad passed away- before he died he saw angles and asked me if I could see them. In all honesty I did not see the angels. I do know that I was at peace with my dad while he made his transition. Am I believer... Jury is still out. I believe its a very personal journey for any one who is spiritual or has a certain faith they follow. Just sayin' there are huge possibilities of unknown and its all there for the taking- the good stuff is always there. Always.

Thanks for sharing. It doesn't mattter how dated a topic is sometimes Red just throws new topics in to start up a convo..... I agree it is a personal journey that each of us makes in our own way and time. We find what we look for in due time. I tried sharing this story once before but got over whelmed and just couldn't finish so trying again... The Christmas after my Dad passed , years ago, my kids were teens and almost teens--- 2 sons and one daughter. I came home from work one evening , on the 23 rd of Dec., a couple of our oldest sons guy friends were visiting , Rachael had wrapped some presents for them , it was probaley the 2nd or 3rd Christmas she had wrapped their girl friends or Moms prezzies for them. In order to keep the house passable neat--lol- impossible with teens in and out , we had set up a table and made a wrapping station in the back bedroom which was master bedroom. Later that evening after all the visitors and strays had left and my kids were finall in bed , at that time cuz I worked I would spend 10 minutes just going around and straightening up after every one was in bed, no vacumning or such just picking up and putting away what had been over looked in the common areas , before I went to bed. Jim had called earlier bout dinner time and was working over --something had broke down and they wanted to finish up then have C. Eve off rather than go in for half a day. So after checking around putting things away , I unplugged the tree and headed off to bed. My room was neat but so much wrapping papers and ribbons and bows , since all the wrapping was done I decided to clean up , toss some in trash and neaten up, put away. Didn't take long- she was good about straightening up the room when she wrapped. Came out of the shower and noticed in far corner was a jacket and sweater piled , picked them up and under them was a brown cardboard box, was surprised cause thought everything was wrapped so opened it and it was some odd ball decorative stuff we had decided not to use that year. On top of the contents was a Christmas card --- with a snow scene and little red haired girl in a blue coat with matching cap , and white fuzzy little tube that old fashioned that little girls put their hands in,, --- can't think of what its called - standing in the snow looking at a red cardinal, sitting on a snow covered branch- it was a very old fashioned looking card and I could not remember seeing it before . We always display cards on the buffet then they are tossed after Christmas cause I just do not have room to keep them. I opened it up and there was a short note from Dad- his hand writing --saying he had arrived here and all was fine . Now he had lived a 1000 miles away and always came to visit between Thanksgiving and Christmas , always went home before the traffic or weather got bad . But he always sent a card with a religious theme ---angels and harps or manger scene or such. I could not remember him ever sending this card or even one without a religious theme ,,,, so walked back to the front room , carried it up to place on buffet with the others . It just brought it all back--- his illness the last few months when he was out of his head with pain etc. I sat down in the living room and then memories of Christmases past --when my brothers & I were young , we always had a live tree---went to the woods to find one --cut it and then back home --decorating was a family affair . Dad did the lights then the star, then he sat back with coffee and watched and directed us as we put the decorations on--- over there is a bare spot--too much tinsel right there move some up higher- you got 2 red balls together move one over to the left-- all with laughter and joking around ,,, then once the tree was decorated ---then he would come and look it over real close then pick up the light string plug and say"""" Let there be light""' as he plugged it in.... By this time laying on the couch , staring at our darkened tree, thinking and missing Dad, I had tears running down my face , But then I actually heard his voice saying let there be light--- and the tree lights came on, shone brightly for a moment then faded slowly away. Now I knew darn well I had unplugged that dang tree so jumped up and went over ---sure enough the end of the string of lights was lyng on the floor --unplugged. A good 2 feet away from the socket . I picked it up and stood there trying to figure out what the heck just happened . Dad sending me a message? ? Oh and the card, I had a little blue coat with hat and ruff (think whats that hand warmer thingy was called) when I was small. Dad had bought it on one of his trips to San Francisco, for my birthday. And yes I was a redhead . Now I got it frosted--lol-- The memory came back of wearing that coat while we looking for a C. tree one time and finding a red cardinal in a bush... I stepped back to the buffet to look at the card again and it was gone... Did I dream it NO I was wide awake.

WOW! I have to tell you Marielouise that is the best of all possible scenarios. Its amazing how much we really don't understand about the "other world"
What a beautiful gift you were given. I understand the reason why you could not share that earlier even a few months ago may have been to soon.
And to let you know... I paraphrased quite a bit with my dad's story. I just can't go there, not yet. I have shared what happened between my dad and I with one other person and if I'm ever ready... I get so choked up. There is magic in these kinds of gifts, real honest to goodness love.
I think that the Universe and its beautiful complexities are a gift to humanity, to see them unravel.
I dont know you well but I would wager a lot of money that you were given the gift of pure love.

Life is strange and I think that our passing is just another step toward where ever and what ever. It was for me a blessing and a fare thee well from Dad. His last months were very painful and most the time he was not very aware of who and what was going on around him. The last time I saw him , he did not recognize me or my 3 brothers . He thought I was Mom , and was trying to tell me about some important papers even tho he and Mom had been divorced more than 15 years close to 20. He thought my oldest brother was his brother who had been gone a good 15 years -- Uncle was the oldest in the family .
I do treasure the memory and had not shared it before , one of those things its not easy to talk of , and too it sounds so other worldly that many would or could not believe. Which is fine with me--- to each his own!!!
It does show there are those who to some extent watch over us from the other side . I have not had any other communication from him but thats also fine , once was enough ...
