Canned 4 pints of dill spears and a pint of dill slices today. My husband said "Isn't it easier to just buy them?" Well yeah , but I had some cucumbers I didn't want to end up throwing out and decided to put them to good use. I'm not a big fan of pickles myself but hub likes them with burgers and sandwiches. Hope they turn out good, never made dills before only sweet pickles.

You can buy a jar of pickles and they sit for 6 months or more , you make a jar of pickles and you have to fight them off so it can sit long enuf to have a great tasting pickle!! LOL

What kind of radish did you use directsunlight? Last year I used Crimson Giant. This year I've grown cherry belle and crimson giant. They are really low maintenance, thinning and weeding is about all you've got to do to them. I let a couple of them grow-- they became huge! When they flowered the top of the flowers were waist-high. I took the seed pods and dried them, didn't bother to husk them until time to plant this year. If I find the recipe I'll post it-- I can't find it but it was dill radish pickles. I'm just cooking some as they get ready, & eating them with apple cider vinegar. The greens are good too if you grab them fresh and cook them-- a mite prickly if eaten fresh though...
