Woodland medicinal (and I'm thinking epiphyte) had lovely striking flower.
Seed set is directly behind flower. Seed is soft bodied and dies when dried. Seed must be kept moist with dampened peat, and promptly replanted.
Like ginseng, blood root can be grown under grape trellis and other arbor projects. Where it can remain undisturbed for an extended period.

Some a these went off to the Sapling-In-Chief to grow undisturbed at Stacked Stones. More will go off this fall if they survive last winter here up on the tundra.
I planted Apios last fall here on the fence line, and was sick as a dog most of the summer. As I dig out (and weed out), maybe I'll find them again, and maybe able to divide and share some out.
