Picked some little broccoli heads, not much. Picked the spinach before that last cold snap but it is already growing back. Have garlic and cabbages out there. The cabbage plants are huge and the green ones are heading up a little but the red ones don't look to be. Peas in the back raised bed and herbs started on the windowsill. I will wait another week or so to start the tomatoes as they got so huge last year before I could get them out to the garden.

I really wish that I can get big broccoli and cauliflower heads and brussel sprouts. I grow all kinds of seasonal veggies and love to branch out into the unknown- especially spicy/pungent things. I love trying exotic asian and african crops. I have herbs and a few fruit trees and I grow flowers, too.

I started some tomato and pepper seeds last night. I usually do squash and cucumber directly in the ground, but I may start them early to beat the bugs.

I didn't get my fall garden planted as planned, that old life gets in the way thing don't you know, but I just cut big bunch of chard for dinner. Growing but not producing yet are lettuces, radishes, bulbing and bunching onions, cabbages, eggplant and 18 tomato plants blooming already. Leeks arrived so I have to finish digging and amending their spot and finish planting a wide row of kale, turnips, beets, carrots, fennel, raab and spinich. Can you tell I like greens? I think I'll dig around in the front flower bed and plant some red mustard and a couple more tomato seedlings, fun isn't it? Happy gardening!

Got a 30ft row of garlic, row of green onions, row of walking onions and about 10ft row of chard going for the winter garden this year... lost a row of kohlrabi and collards to quail coveys.. lil buggers ate them to the ground when they were about 5in tall. For some reason they don't touch chard or onions. Starting peppers next week and maters and eggplants about the first week in Feb. We got a late frost last spring on April 10.. unusually cold spring here.

Well I have a order of 3 bunches of onions coming from DDF. Right now I see a sign of a broccoli putting on a head but it is the size of my thumb lol. My 11 cloves of garlic are about 2 inches tall right now they are loving this warm weather. I have a few pea plants up but will till them under in a month so I can plant way more peas again. I will plant green beans as well in a few months and cucumbers. My tomatoes have sprouted and are an inch or more tall as well as my 3 types of peppers. I have 16 types of tomatoes this year usually I only grow 8 plants oh my what was I thinking. And with most of the maters all 3 or 4 seeds sprouted.

We do it every year; say we'll cut back on the garden, and I can tell already we will probably plant too much again. Going to start some tomatoes soon, I think. Looks like deer have been munching on some of the garlic outside, but it should come back, I hope. Now we all just have to hope for better weather this summer.

Maybe you could sell some starts?? Sometimes a local greenhouse will buy them if they are unusual varieties.
We've taken seeds in for them to start, when we had bad luck with them, and then would take a few extra in for them to sell themselves.

We got about 2/10 of an inch, but I did see some worm castings out in the bare patch. And the wheat is still green and growing.

I had cracks in my yard I was afraid my dogs would fall in. I looked today when planting onions all the big cracks are gone so the ground is totally saturated yea.
