Dang hogs are everywhere here! I live sort of out of town-lots of room-there's a graveyard about 1/2 mile from my house, nearer the river. Hogs got in the graveyard and tore it up! It is legal to hunt hogs here 24/7 all year long. Don't miss!

Well we have them at the butcher and making boneless chos and sausage. He is also making some smoked sausage we got to try it is out of this world good. We think it may be ready this weekend. I am loading all my stuff in the truck oening day is Saturday. I have a letter that is not working on my keybord think you can guess which one it is. It would be in reference needing to do number 1 for the bathroom lol.

Cat these hogs are ruining our lease. We have three huge males we have seen so we think we have at least three distinct herds. They are tearing u all over the land. They have bent the legs of my feeder getting at some fresh a les I threw out the night before last weekend. use the non working letter on my keyboard two times between the a and les lol. New keyboed when I get back next week this stinks.

We have had a couple of couchon d lais with wild hog-The meat is kind of dry-not a whole lot of fat on a wild hog. But, cooking it long and slow, it came out good-falling off the bone good! And yep, they tear up everything they get near!

I have a bunch of chicken fried steak style hog he made. Never used hog meat for that but will have to give it a try. The guy that did our meat uses regular hog fat as a binder for the reason you stated in both the sausage and smoked sausage. Think we got around 3o or so lbs of meat each animal.

This is all new to me W8. If the rest of it is as good as the smoked sausage it should be really really good. I have about 6 lbs of regular breakfast sausage I am going to try some this weekend down there I will let you know. I have ate rattlesnake killed by me bear and all other kind of wild game from squirrels to rabbits but never wild hog.

We have had feral hogs --didn't notice much difference other than dryness... It may depend on their main diet --don't know . Basically the feral hogs are tame ones that have been turned loose and/ or escaped to the wild.
And yes they not only tear up the land but also drive the native deer out if they get too numerous . Our land (500+ acres) down on the Sabine river had so many that the deer were almost all gone before we sold the place. Even with hunting and trapping and just flat out killing .

Three words come to mind: Night Vision Scope.

I have been throwing apples out by the feeder.
I have a night vision clip on attachment that works great for the hogs but would be in big trouble if I used it on a deer.

Well I saw 7 does and a nice 8 point buck I passed on. He was I believe only 2 1/2 years old. As the season winds down I may have to change his fortune if I do not see a better one and get to see him again.
